And now for something completely different: an actress in a seasonally appropriate dress that’s also appropriate for the setting. What can we say? It’s been a summer full of overwrought gowns and heavy leather ensembles sitting in the comfy chairs of America’s night time talk shows. It’s downright refreshing to see The Bad Guys 2 star Danielle Brooks show up to Seth Meyers’ place in a simple but pretty shirt dress, perfectly styled.
The color is very pretty on her, the pleating adds some interest, and the shoes, mani and jewelry are all perfectly on point. It makes for a particularly good sitting dress because it’s actually more interesting that way. When she walked out, you could barely see the pleats and the whole thing had a bit of a “smock” vibe to it, but when she sits down, it looks great. It’s incredibly rare to spot a dress on a talk show that looks better seated.
