Red Carpet Rundown: FREAKIER FRIDAY Los Angeles Premiere

The stars came out in force, in surprisingly high style, and for some reason, almost entirely in pastels for the premiere of Freakier Friday. Let’s be judgy bitches about it. Just this once.

This is practically dripping with “I play the romantic lead in this.” It’s certainly giving Boyfriend Material, but we can’t help thinking the black dress pants are a mistake. He’d look so much dreamier in a pair of faded jeans, but evidently, this is a very dress premiere.

It’s almost cute. We loke the color and the sparkle, but we just don’t like the shape at all, from the sleeve length to the shoulders to the hem length.

This is a pleasant surprise! We can’t remember the last time she wore a dress above the knee, let alone a dress with as much personality and visual interest as this. The color looks amazing on her and we love the pleating. We don’t mind the shoulder detail, but it’s definitely not meant for someone who constant poses with her hands on her hips. We can understand wanting to elongate the leg with a neutral shoe, but we wish she’d opted to a color.

Very sharp and almost too sophisticated for a premiere like this.

It’s a lovely gown, although we don’t think the color is the best one for her. Granted, that might have more to do with the aggressively pink blush, which makes her look like she got slapped by a baby. We get that this isn’t exactly a prestige motion picture event, but that “clutch” is tacky and looks bad with the dress and those stunning diamonds.

Love this for her. She’s here to support her old Parent Trap co-star, so this feels like how she’d dress when the pressure’s off her to promote herself. She tends toward very flashy styles, but this is chic. It just needs a quarter inch taken off the hem.

Flawless. The hair, the makeup, the jewelry, the fit, the mani, the color and the shoes — no notes at all. She nailed it.

Apparently he’s not in the group text. Or maybe he just said to hell with wearing pastels. Love the suit, the shirt, the belt and those killer cheekbones, but he’d have looked so much better if he just put the damn jacket on.

Fun! We always feel like ankle straps look wrong with minis. Is that just us?

Oof. Lady, you deserve better. This may be one of the ugliest dresses we’ve seen all year.
