Rachel Brosnahan in Ralph Lauren at the SUPERMAN Los Angeles Premiere: IN or OUT?

The Superman promo train keeps chugging along, with most of the cast turning it out for the Los Angeles premiere last night. Before we get to running down all of their looks, we figured we’d give one Miss Lois Lane the spotlight and put her dress up to a vote, since you kittens have not been enjoying her style efforts of late.

This is the third time she’s worn purple on this promo tour, which is sort of unofficially Lois Lane’s signature color. She tends to be pictured in purple suits and skirts more often than any other color, and in recent decades, the comics have made a point of noting that she has a violet eye color. So we’re taking this as a very subtle form of theme or character-based dressing and we approve, if only because there’s nothing obvious or costumey about it. But of course, none of that matters as much as the question of whether this gown is fabulous enough. She has a preference for slinky gowns with cutouts and her tastes tend to run a little tacky. This is gorgeously glam on her and the fit is impressive, but the open sides and back look a little… not chic, we’ll say. We also can’t say we love the pony tail here. Basically, her preferences tend to land on baddie most of the time and we don’t quite think that works for this kind of promotion. Ultimately, however, the call is yours. Let’s hear it.
