We suspect no single celebrity man is more responsible for this year’s Met exhibit and Met Gala theme than Colman Domingo, who has distinguished himself in the last decade through a string of highly acclaimed performances and a veritable parade of High Dandyism on the red carpet. Of all the co-chairs this year, his red carpet appearance was the one we were most looking forward to, which is why we were initially disappointed to see him show up in this admittedly beautiful tribute to the Black church. We were hoping for more of a Zoot suit vibe from him and we held our breath, hoping he had a reveal on store.

Thankfully, he did — and it was one of the best looks of the night. That jacket is a stunner. We love the floppy tie and the coordinating corsage. The entire ensemble is the sum of a bunch of beautiful parts, but we have to say, the jewelry is what really makes this look for us. The man has always had fine taste in accessories, but he’s really outdone himself this time.
