Good Lady Cate is very much in a “you can’t predict what she’ll wear next” mode of late, and we’re thrilled by that. She showed up to the Olivier Awards in the hottest look of 1987 and we need you to assess it for us because we’re recording the podcast as you’re reading this.
It’s…um… something, for sure. It’s bold and colorful in a way that takes a great picture. We sort of like the shape and style for it and we will once again stand on our soapbox to loudly remind the world that fashion is cyclical and there’s nothing wrong with half-century-old styles swinging back into view. You just have to be able to take the designs on the merits whenever they pop up again. We can’t say any of this isn’t working for her, but we do think it’s an odd choice for an awards ceremony red carpet. We don’t know. We don’t hate it and we think we kind of like it but we can’t really say we love it. You make the call:
