Good American Family star Christina Hendricks stopped by the Series Mania Festival in France to serve up a whole lot of polka dots. We’re going to nitpick this one, but before we do, we feel like we need to pay it the compliment that probably matters more than our quibbles: it’s not a great dress, but it’s an interesting one.
Given the neckline and shoulder design, we would have assumed this was a tea-length dress at most. We also might have assumed a fuller skirt than that. Something about the print just doesn’t lend itself to assuming it would be great for a gown. She doesn’t always gravitate toward the best styles for herself (she favors retro-romanticism and a lot of fuss), but this style really works for her. If she keeps the looks sleek and graphic, she does well for herself. Having said that, the puckering seams are bad, as is that waist sash. We don’t think the design absolutely needs something at the waist, but we feel like a thick black belt would have been a better choice. We also think black pumps would be better here. We’re not opposed to white pumps, but the polka dots already give it a sort of clowny feel, so we’d have rec’d toning things down with the accessories. The bracelets are nice.
