Sofia Carson went and did one of those things that actresses – and occasionally, some actors – are called upon to do: pose rather stupidly with props for the press. The star of Carry-On headed to the Shrine Auditorium ahead of Sunday night’s SAG Awards as one of this year’s “SAG Awards Ambassadors” for a press preview and a menu reveal. As we said, these things tend to be rather silly and most of the time, we feel a bit sorry for whoever got roped into it.

“Look! He has no penis!”

But she looks really cute here and it’s good to be reminded that, for a whole lot of recognizable stars, doing self-promotion or picking up side gigs like this is a big part of the job. For Sofia Carson, she’s now associated with this year’s SAG Awards, however briefly and tangentially it may be. And she got to step out in front of cameras in a cute outfit. Our first impulse, as people who came up in the aughts celebrity blogging era, is to be really snotty and bitchy about things like this, but if we’re being honest, we appreciate the hustle. Get your camera time and/or your coin, girl.  Having said all that, what the hell are those things hanging behind your legs?
