Not so fast there, bitchy American bloggers. We were in such a rush to get a post together when Princess Cathy stepped out in Wales yesterday that it never even occurred to us that your girl would wind up working a second look. Once that gorgeous Alexander McQueen coat came off, she stepped out again in an outfit so tweedy and British, you could almost gag on it.
It’s giving “Grandma Betty driving around Balmoral in her Range Rover” except chic. To be fair, Grandma Betty never so much as looked at a Gucci skirt in all her nine decades. The Ralph Lauren jacket is evidently an old from her pre-royal days. The big news here is that she’s wearing more than two colors at the same time. Granted, they’re all very muted and two of them are neutrals, but still. It’s nice to see her loosen up a little bit on the aggressive matchiness.
