And now, a salute to a bad look. Ethan Hawke came to the Berlin International Film Festival to premiere his new film Blue Moon, in which he portrays legendary composer Lorenz Hart. He opted to dress goofy for the occasion, as he so often does:
The fit is comically terrible and the tie is ugly. But we’ll tell you what: we had a bunch of options to feature A-list male stars premiering their films at the Berlinale today and we ditched all of them because they all dressed in casual neutrals, which has become something of a trend among celebrity men. Well fuck that. We’d rather shine a spotlight on a guy who took a risk and opted to express himself as an artist and a performer over a bunch of anxious guys who are deathly afraid of being perceived as frivolous or un-masculine. This may not be impeccable, but it’s loaded with the wearer’s personality and it’s completely unforgettable. This is true style. No, really.
