The stars came out for the British GQ Men of the Year Awards and while one or two attendees (including cover star Nicole Kidman) put in the effort, most of these dudes looked like shit! Just calling it as we see it, folks. Let’s do this.
Alicia Vikander in Louis Vuitton
This is goofy and weird, but trust us when we say, it’s easily one of the most interesting and memorable looks of the night. The top half has too many layers and too much volume for the bare legs. It looks unbalanced.
Asa Butterfield in Dior Homme
We simply can’t imagine having access to Dior Homme and picking this. You’d have to be insane.
Bella Ramsey in Thom Browne
It’s a nice, well-tailored suit and it’s clearly their preference, but we wish they’d go for less businesslike styles.
Eve Hewson in Rodarte
A pretty negligee, if a little overdesigned in the bust (which tends to go against the whole point of negligees).
Harris Dickinson
It’s very “British banker circa 1975,” which suits him well. Love the shoes.
Harry Lawtey in Saint Laurent
This is fantastic.
Himesh Patel in Casely-Hayford
A dreary cut and color.
James Norton
He’s not well-suited to black satin, even with the dyed hair, which we hope is for a role because it looks terrible.
Joe Alwyn
Boring, generic dadstyle.
Jude Law in Givenchy
The suit is fine. His penchant for wearing scoop necks with scarves is not.
Maxim Baldry
This is nice, but we’re SO DAMN TIRED of the guys all defaulting to black lately.
Phil Dunster in Brunello Cucinelli
Can’t argue with a well-executed classic look.
Richard Gadd
It’s giving mortician.
Will Sharpe
It’s giving depressed.
