Cate Blanchett swerves once again. The star of Disclaimer sported a big, honkin’ bird on her chest as she hit the red carpet for the special screening of the series premiere.

She’s definitely in her “You never know what you’re gonna get from me” style era. We kinda love that she’s being so adventurous lately, although we haven’t always loved her choices. The cut of the suit is giving Charlie Chaplin, which is not quite the style we’d suggest for her. We realize the oversized aspects are deliberate and we mostly appreciate them. The balloony pants actually look pretty great. The overly long jacket would work better if it wasn’t pulling so much. The dove thing is interesting and reminds us of Lady Gaga’s Schiaparelli inauguration outfit. , but it’s a Stella McCartney piece, made out of “gold and silver repurposed from electronic and medical waste.” It seems strange to wear it half-obscured, but it also might look strange just laying on top of the jacket. If nothing else, it’s an interesting and memorable look that feels particularly well-suited to her. Agree? Disagree? No, really. We’re asking.
