The ladies of The Supremes at Earl’s All-You-Can-Eat put on their best high glam looks and hit the red carpet at the film’s premiere. Interesting choices were made! Let’s assess.

She looks fantastic in white. We might be convinced on the use of marabou in such a minimalist design, but we hate the way it’s placed here.

The idea of a halter caftan for her is a great one. The reality of this particular halter caftan is that it’s absolutely terrible. The textile looks cheap and flimsy, the color does nothing at all for her, and the leather collar is an odd and distracting element.

The fit on the skirt is fantastic. The concept of the design works, but the execution – specifically the hem on that top – is terrible. We’re trying to assume that it’s a deliberate design element, but a) it’s difficult to do so and b) if it is a deliberate choice, it’s an utterly baffling one.

We can understand the impulse to add a little bit of edge to a standard Barbie gown, but those flowers don’t work at all. They’re too big, too messy, and too prominently placed.

We’re not at all convinced on the merits of the blond eyelashes, but the look really suits her. We can understand if some might have an issue with the lace tights. They’re certainly not among our favorite fashion items. But they actually work pretty well here as an unexpected choice. The necklace doesn’t go. Should’ve been a pendant. Similarly, as kickass as those pumps are, we think boots might have been a fun choice.

Can’t argue with pure, old-school glam.
