We had to give Ryan, Blake and Emma their own spotlight posts because have you even seen what they wore to this thing? But now it’s time to wrap up our loving judgment of the Deadpool & Wolverine New York premiere red carpet. Let’s do this! Oh, and a few of the attendees could serve as spoilers regarding the film’s many cameos, but we suspect that won’t matter to most of y’all.
Ben McKenzie and Morena Baccarin (in Safiyaa)
The dress is pretty great, if a little tight. Her makeup is incredibly harsh. He looks like an acceptably supportive spouse.
Brianna Hildebrand in Stella McCartney
It’s cute and delivers a lot of impact for relatively little effort. Not loving the seaming in the skirt.
Dafne Keen
We can understand why she’d want to show up looking hot after spending several episodes of Star Wars: The Acolyte looking a little goofy under prosthetics and makeup, but we’re afraid this whole outfit looks a bit cheap.
Gigi Hadid in Miu Miu
Like her bestie Blake, she came dressed according to theme, or in this case, according to the film’s logo, although technically, we suppose this is meant as an homage to Wolverine. Either way, it’s just a bit much. That’s way too much yellow for anything that isn’t a superhero costume. We were never the biggest fans of handkerchief tops, but if they’re cycling back on trend, we would like to suggest that a leather one is particularly terrible. The jewelry situation is making us very upset.
Hugh Jackman
It’s fine, but he should aim higher than “sexy priest.”
Karan Soni
That’s a great color for him and we’re impressed by how unwrinkled it is for a linen suit. He just should’ve buttoned it.
Keeley Hawes and Matthew Macfadyen
Almost too elegant for this crowd, but they both look pretty great.
Leslie Uggams
It’s a LOT of look and if she’d asked our advice, we might have tried to suggest removing or editing one or two choices. The pants are fun and so is the jacket, but they don’t belong in the same outfit.
Lewis Tan in Amiri
That just looks like skin. Don’t wear beige leather, people.
Lucy Qiu in Stéphane Rolland Couture
This is pretty damn fabulous. LOVE the hair.
Wunmi Mosaku
She looks gorgeous, but the gown is wildly overembellished. A plain black bust and a longer hem would have had this looking perfect.
