Congratulations to Daniel Radcliffe for being an all-around awesome guy, but also for winning his very first Tony Award, for Best Featured Actor in a Musical for his role in “Merrily We Roll Along.” We offer further, shallower congratulations for snagging a pretty cute tux.
On a lot of other guys, a lavender tux would come off flamboyant or dandy in a Wonka sort of way, but it suits his looks so well that it seems like the most natural choice in the world for him. We appreciate the mauve-y undertone of the lapels, which lends the outfit a depth and sophistication, taking it just a bit away from being too much of a confection. His hair looks cute. Our only critique is that he’d have looked better if he’d shaved. Erin’s dress is sophisticated and glamorous without being focus-pulling. We’re a little surprised to admit that we like the messy up do. It really suits her and it takes the look away from being grandiose or matronly.
