Cannes Film Festival 2024: Lily Gladstone in Armani Privé at the BEATING HEARTS Premiere: IN or OUT?

We’re in the midst of recording our podcast (yes, its true!) and we’ve got nothing left but red carpet rundowns to close out the week, so let’s shine a spotlight on Miss Lily and then put her frock up to a vote. She’s been having quite a stylish time at Cannes and it’s wonderful to see her graduate to the major houses and brand names, post Oscars. Do we love what she wore to the premiere of Beating Hearts?

We’re honestly not sure. We don’t hate it; we know that much. It’s elegant and understated in a way that works nicely for her, but it’s also a little on the plain side. As is often the case with her red carpet looks, we suspect the earrings by Indigenous artisans were chosen first and the outfit was designed around them. Which is a perfectly fabulous approach, but we don’t think the dress and the earrings coordinate outside of the touches of pink in the former. And is it us or is the sequin embroidery design kind of off-putting? These are your talking points. Discuss and conclude.
