Here is where we admit that we may have crowed “IT’S NOT HAPPENING FOR YOU THIS YEAR, BRADLEY” when he failed to snag a Golden Globe, but we felt a little bad about it. Right now he’s being subjected to the same kind of blowback Anne Hathaway received when she was campaigning for her Oscar. While these things tend to blow up in actresses’ faces more than actors’, it’s not entirely unheard of for a particularly or overtly hungry actor to start getting on people’s nerves. We’ll say this: we thought Maestro was a little too engineered for awards consideration and to be quite honest, we found both of their performances to be a little irritating to watch (although hers really is a marvel of technique), but there’s nothing wrong with being an ambitious star, no matter how annoying they might be about it. Anyway, here they are, keeping their smiles, but looking just a weensy bit defeated at the Governor’s Awards.
Can’t get mad at either of them for their outfits. He’s a little sloppy, but we love a good midnight blue tux.
Carey Mulligan in Celine
She really has a thing for black and white dresses lately. This is a bit sedate for our tastes, but it’s positively showy for hers. She looks great.
