Alright, celebrity ladies, get in formation. You’ve got yet another “Yay We’re Celebrity Ladies in Hollywood” year-end party red carpets to get through. Let’s see how some of you did for this one.
Alexandra Shipp in Christopher Esber
The design is interesting, but it doesn’t really get to where it needs to go, if that makes any sense. Unresolved. We also think it would look better in black.
Ariana DeBose in Rowen Rose
Hate it. After years of pajama-inspired pieces on the red carpet, we’re ready to declare that you either wear literal pajamas or you pick something else because every time someone tries to get cute about the design, it just looks like goofy-ass pajamas to us.
Camila Cabello in Vintage John Galliano
It’s not a great dress, but we’d like it more if it had a little color to it. Those are Nana slippers on her feet.
Dua Lipa in Tom Ford
Even though sheer hose with a slit-to-the-hip strapless gown and sandals feels like a strange combination, we have to admit she looks pretty hot in this. That faux belt is a great detail.
Helen Mirren in Gucci
Ooof. No. Sorry, but it’s giving Goth Whatever Happened to Baby Jane which sounds better than it actually is.
Jurnee Smollett in Zimmermann
Hard to argue with any of that.
Kate Beckinsale in Self-Portrait
It’s got such a prim and demure top half that we laughed out loud when we caught the bottom half. There she is. There’s our tacky queen with the impressive ankle strength.
Lily Gladstone
She has a real knack for making plain black dresses sing. Love the arm cuff but she definitely could’ve used more jewelry.
Lucy Hale in Dior
SUPER cute. Maybe a little bit literal, but it’s not a dealbreaker.
