After years of red carpet reportage end editorializing (aka, being bitches), we can tell you that Leonardo DiCaprio hates red carpets and if you ever catch him on one, you’ll be treated to the sourest of sour-kitty expressions, which is why it’s so jarring to see him beaming happily at the Gotham Awards next to his Killers of the Flower Moon co-star Lily Gladstone.

But we tend to think he’s using his own star power (literally any shots of him will be worth more money than any of her, by virtue of long-term name recognition) to make sure she’s getting the kind of attention she missed out on when the film opened during the SAG-AFTRA strike. He’s no glory hound and he’d just as soon walk past all of the photographers, but he looks pleased as punch here. Love that. We’re afraid we’re not in love with her dress. The color looks great on her and we like the embellishments at the neck, but that pie crust collar and waist ruffle are making us wince. We’re not super-crazy about the sleeve length either. In fact, we think full sleeves would probably improve the proportions here a little. In other news, her hair and makeup are fantastic.
