Fresh from the unveiling of her Ursula character poster and a preview of what is, by all accounts, a pretty great rendition of “Poor Unfortunate Souls” at CinemaCon, The Little Mermaid star Melissa McCarthy ditched her Disney witch drag and went for a sunny, pretty, ultra-femme look as she stopped by the GMA studios for a chat.
The dress is SUPER-twee, to the point that we have to admit it’s not really our tastes, but she’s long had a preference for this sort of style and we can’t claim it looks bad on her at all. Our real issue is with the styling. Neither the aviators nor the Rockstuds really go with this style at all. We might understand the impulse to want to introduce some pieces with a little edge and hardness to them in order to counter the overwhelming sweetness of the frock, but neither of these choices really work for us. We admit that we’re a bit stumped on suggested alternatives, however. We’re throwing this one out to you. If you could recommend a different style of shoe or shades for this look, what would it be?
