Aubrey Plaza takes a post-White Lotus victory lap as a wrapup to a banner career year for her. In more important (to us) news, she wore a Thom Browne ensemble that doesn’t look like a thousand other Thom Browne ensembles seen on the red carpet in the last six months. Huzzah and hooray for her.
We reiterate that we adore the TB aesthetic. We just think the gray schoolgirl suits have been DONE AND DONE at this point, so it almost feels refreshing to see a Browne-ian take on a classic Chanel tweed. We don’t think one has to follow the styling of a look book or runway version – in fact, we think it’s usually better and more stylish not to do so – but in this case, losing the bow tie and the vest means losing the whimsy that defines Browne’s work. Still, she looks really cute, even if the sheer blouse doesn’t quite work with it. LOVE the shoes, though.
