Jameela Jamil broke out an old fave for the premiere of She-Hulk. While it shouldn’t be all that newsworthy that a star rewore a dress on the red carpet, we think this one is notable simply for being extremely on point for the occasion.
Jameela wore this dress by Monique Vee, who designs a lot of drag and ballroom fashion, on an episode of Legendary, when she was hosting the ball competition. We love that this has both queer and SUPER-nerdy undertones. Like Underoos for drag queens. It feels way more like a drag costume than a typical piece of red carpet fashion – that bust design is perhaps a bit much – but we really love it. If you can’t go way over the top for a superheroine show launch – one in which you’re playing a way over-the-top super-villainess – then when can you? Loving the big hair and drag makeup. This wasn’t a night for demure and elegant looks. This is not what we’d call chic, but it’s not trying to be. It’s just plain fun.
