Obi-Wan Kenobi star Moses Ingram took something of a victory lap that she shouldn’t have had to take, but at least she came out of it look pretty fabulous.
Love the dress, love the sandals. It’s a low-key simple look with a lot of bang for its buck. She had something of a rough time of it lately, which she exposed when she revealed the onslaught of racist messages she was getting on social media from Star Wars fans. It’s part of a long, shameful tradition in Star Wars fandom, some of whom evidently love the franchise for all that fabulous fascism, since John Boyega and Kelly Marie Tran have also talked about the racism they faced during their time interacting with its fandom. The official Star Wars family all came out in support of her, which was a marked difference to how they responded to Boyega and Tran’s complaints (by largely ignoring them). Moses closed out the week by riding a wave of love and support from fans and co-stars, but once again, a Star Wars star went through something she never should have, simply because of who she is. We don’t know how Disney should address this clear and ongoing problem, but at least they made baby steps toward dealing with it this time.
