It’s unofficially Michelle Pfeiffer day around here, since we just praised her performance in our review of The First Lady and will be talking about her work portraying Betty Ford further in our podcast later today, as part of a discussion on performances we’re currently loving.
But it’s also sort of First Lady Day around here, so let’s see how all these faux FLOTUSes did for the premiere red carpet.
Viola Davis in Stella McCartney
The color looks spectacular on her. We’ve been loving all the greens and oranges we’ve been seeing on the red carpet lately. We also love the accentuated shoulders and bare arms, which give it a slightly Michelle-esque touch. Her hair is gorgeous. We’re so-so on the bag.
Gillian Anderson in Valentino
Everyone’s getting the absolute most out of that Valentino pink this season. We kinda love this. Those pants and shoes might have gone a little too precious if this were a conventional pantsuit or jumpsuit, but that top is such an unexpected shape and style that it makes the whole ensemble feel more formal. We feel like it could’ve used a necklace, ring, or bracelet.
Michelle Pfeiffer in Celine
Classic Pfeiffer. We hate the shoes, but everything above them looks fantastic.
