We are pleased to report that the boys have returned to the red carpet and that they’re not slacking off. Gentlemen, start your engines…
Andrew Garfield in Saint Laurent
This is all quietly unexpected. We wouldn’t have predicted anyone would wear a pinstripe suit on this red carpet, let alone that they’d make it look so chic and formal. The pants are unexpectedly roomy, but we kind of like the silhouette they make in combination with the fitted jacket. The shoes give him baby feet, unfortunately. He needed something with a larger footprint.
Billy Crudup
It looks a size too large on him and we think he does himself no favors by sporting slicked hair. He’s got a great jawline and he should be setting it off with some free-flowing locks.
Daveed Diggs in Versace
Flawless. LOVE the hair. WANT the shoes.
Ian Bohen in Dolce & Gabbana
We wouldn’t have expected anyone from the Yellowstone crowd to show up so fancy, but we’re loving that he did.
Jamie Dornan in Brunello Cucinelli
Meh. You’re too cute to look so bland, sir.
Javier Bardem in Zegna
We have to admit something here. We HATE when men pair colorful jackets with plain black dress pants. It just ruins what could have been a killer tux for him.
Jeremy Strong in Prada
“I am a fun guy and I totally do NOT take myself too seriously.”
Jon Bernthal in Dolce & Gabbana
Well alright, then.
Kodi Smit McPhee in Dior
It’s gorgeous and dramatic. We love the shoes, but we think the pants needed to be hemmed to accommodate them.
Lee Jung-jae
The midnight blue tux can be a bit of a cliche at this point, but it’s impossible to argue with the results here. He looks suave and elegant.
Leslie Odom Jr. in Balmain
We love that he takes so many risks and has a love of flamboyance that’s rare in straight men. Having said that, the proportions here are odd.
Lin-Manuel Miranda
Great jacket (with a slightly off fit). Love the short hair. Everything else is meh.
Michael Keaton
This bitch is SEVENTY and he not only looks like that, but he sprinted across the room and literally barrel-rolled onto the stage to accept his award and wasn’t even a little out of breath. He looks great.
Murray Bartlett
Love the fit, love the hair, love the black-and-blue color combo, wish he still had his mustache.
Oscar Isaac in Prada
WHY would you pair black pants with such an interesting color combination? That’s the kind of shoe Andrew Garfield should’ve worn.
Troy Kotsur
He’s not only a rare man who can pull off a double-breasted tuxedo, he’s also a rare man who can make a newsboy cap/tuxedo combination work. The pants are a little too short, but he’s really tall so it’s probably an issue for him.
