WERQ From Home: Tracee Ellis Ross in Valentino

The celebrity style pickings are summertime slim at the moment. Thankfully, we can always count on stars to do a little home serving, especially those stars who seem to love playing with fashion. Sitting at or near the top of that list is Tracee Ellis Ross, whose love of bold shapes and offbeat elements serves her well on the red carpet, but works even better for her when she’s just hanging at home, without worrying about the fuss of limo rides or other practical considerations.

We would have though that top and skirt wouldn’t pair well, but evidently the fine folks at Valentino disagree, since they were paired for the runway show. The pink pumps are a really great choice for tying the two garments together and making the whole look feel more cohesive. Both pieces have that vaguely editorial, fairly impractical quality to them that she tends to favor, but in this case, the combination of pieces, wearer, styling (LOVE the hair) and setting make for a pretty flawless look. We thank her for these fashion blessings during the annual June drought.
