We’ve been giving Kelly Marie Tran a lot of spotlight time for all the amazing fashion she’s been unveiling during the Raya and the Last Dragon promo tour and it occured to us this morning that we’ve been giving Miss Gemma short shrift on the spotlight front – especially since she has also been consistently serving up gorgeous looks from Asian designers, one after another. Time to rectify and recognize.

It didn’t occur to us until we looked over a bunch of her ensembles at once how good she is at switching up her styles, but in a low-key sort of way that doesn’t feel like she’s just trying on costumes, if that makes any sense. This is simple, but elegant and very pretty on her. The sleeves and the gold belt really make it. For once, we’re going to give our approval to a black pair of pumps.

And there’s that range we were talking about. Suddenly, she’s in sexy summer party mode. And of course, this also looks fantastic on her.

This is exactly the kind of soft and pretty romanticism we always thought was her best style, although it’s clear from these looks she doesn’t have to restrict herself to it. We can’t say we love the hem of the skirt, but we also can’t say it’s detracting from her ability to serve it.

And we’re back to elegant minimalism again, with just a little touch of something interesting. That seems to be the closest representation of her own preferences. She doesn’t go for flashy, but all of these looks have a chic and interesting feel to them.
