Begrudgingly, we will admit that the proportions here are serving her really well, from the padded shoulders down to the flare in the jeans. And the platforms are well-chosen because they give her just enough height to work that long leg. We’d probably hate this on a red carpet or photo call, but we don’t mind it so much in this instance. Granted, you could assume that she’s trying to project a more relatable image by dressing in denim, but we don’t think anyone would mistake either Gaga herself or this getup for representing humble working class fashion. After all, the only reason for stars to get on the campaign trail is to serve up a little bit of that star quality, not to pretend to be something they’re not. She looks great; better than we’d have assumed, given our dislike for the Canadian Tux.
