She’s worn it several times before and we can certainly see why she’d return to it. It’s bold, photogenic, dignified and somehow adorable on her. But at the risk of being sent to the tower, we’ll repeat something we noted the last time we covered it: this suit is starting to look a wee bit dated.

Oooh, we’re gonna hear it for that one, aren’t we? Look, we’re just saying. Maybe the Duchess could have this dyed a richer shade of aubergine or maybe she could have the number of pleats in the skirt reduced or maybe she could snip off the peplum. Maybe the answer is to get rid of the tights and black pumps. She doesn’t have to throw out a perfectly good Oscar suit. Just freshen it up or put it away until it cycles back into fashion again.
