We’ve spent a good portion of today pointing out that music industry events like the AMAs practically beg for the stars to show up sporting some serious fashion cray. This was always the case, but once Gaga showed up at the VMAs in a meat dress, all bets have been off. We’ve tried to adjust our settings when doing red carpet commentary for music folks, but even by the cray style standards of that industry…
This is just an enormous pile of WTF.
Look, these two queens absolutely ADORE Gaultier and always have. He’s not a frequent name heard on red carpets because his stuff is too conceptual, out-there or hard-to-wear for most celebs. At the very least, Miss Christina gets some credit for the attempt. And to be fair, the professional dress-wearer walking this thing down the runway couldn’t quite make it look chic herself. But honestly, you try something like this on, you turn toward the mirror to see if it’s working, and if you’re greeted with a sight like this:
You hang that fucker right back on the rack and yell “NEXT!”
