Miss Gwendoline continues to sow her wild oats all over the red carpets of the world. This lady will not be coming quietly or approaching demurely. She announces her presence with a trumpet blare.
And you WILL pay attention as she passes by.
We love that she dresses this way and we love the overall effect here, but in closeup, it’s clear that an Iris Van Herpen dress requires so much underpinning and infrastructure to create its ephemeral effects that they tend to be diminished significantly. We think this is stunning – from ten feet away. The illusion netting and seaming just don’t work and the dress clearly can’t travel well. Adore the concept, disappointed with the reality.
