At first, we thought this post was going to be more along the lines of those “Oh honey, no” admonitions we’re so good at. Then, upon further consideration, we considered this look to be so dull we weren’t sure it was worth discussing. Finally, we got up this morning and decided we think we kinda like it.
Crazy as that may seem.
Look, we definitely wish it had a bit more hue and color to it. And we think the bust and waistline could both use a better fit. But our dislike of plunging necklines isn’t coming into play here because the proportions are just right for her. And while we think this would be MUCH better in a pale color of some sort, the shimmer and the drama of that skirt are kind of lovely on her.
We try not to get too bitchy about shiny faces on late-summer red carpets, but the makeup job here seems all kinds of wrong for such a minimalist, neutral gown. We’d have thought a cleaner face was a no-brainer.
