Katy Perry in Redemption
It takes a lot of work to look in the mirror, see this, and not notice that your style team has made you look several decades older through the magic of fashion. Girl, what even IS this? How did you manage to find such a tacky and unflattering mess of a look? Why do you insist on sporting that “I’d like to speak to the manager” hair, darling? This is all very bad and you need to make an immediate course correction toward something fun and youthful and fresh. Can you do that for us, Katy? More importantly, can you do that for yourself?
Katy Perry in Emilio Pucci
We have our answer and it would appear to be a firm “No.”
Enh, maybe we’re being a little harsh on the second one. The first one is so bad that we haven’t yet recovered. This dress is fun and doesn’t look bad on her, but the matchy gloves and wig take it to fashion doll territory. Granted, we tend to think she’s at her best when she leans into the cartoon couture looks, but we really think this dress would work better with different, less matchy styling choices.
