Miss Taraji steps out in a semi-cute low-key look that ends disappointingly.
Hair and makeup are looking pretty and the dress is cute, with just enough sparkle to remind you she’s a star. The bodice has a little bit of twee action to it, which is appealing in this case because it’s not a style she tends to wear all that often. But the length is a little awkward and the attempt at a solution to bridging that gap between ankle and hemline – in this case, black tights and booties – made for a poor choice. This is a lightweight dress with a cute vibe to it. Going dark and heavy at the bottom makes her look like she’s bolted to the floor. Bring the hem up an inch, add a small side slit, get a relatively lightweight shoe – in a low-key metallic (maybe…?) and you’d be good to go.
Okay.
After Green Book, we’re keeping our mouths shut on films like this until we hear more.
