And now fashion and hair, hair and fashion.
Queens. Loving the looks, ladies. They’re about as front-row as looks get; perfectly photogenic, eye-catching and glamorous in a New York Fashion Week (as opposed to Hollywood red carpet) kind of way.
Kerry Washington
We love the hair, of course. We suspect some won’t be getting onboard with that makeup job, but we suspect they were going for an editorial, high-fashion sort of face. The problem is that the lighting conditions inside any Fashion Week venue are almost always going to be terrible. Not the time to get clever with the makeup. The only lighting in the room that allows for it is securely fixed on the models.
Also the outfit is truly awful on her, sorry to say. She’s doing a whole lot of work to make it work, but that skirt/sweater combo is odd and uneven in tone and the clear plastic shoes are an abomination unto fashion.
Tracee Ellis Ross
It’s got mesh. It’s got giant pleated silver pants. It’s got a public bra. These should all be disqualifying factors and yet we LOVE this for her. She looks fantastic in it and based on past choices, we know she’s loving these items. The supremely self-satisfied posing tends to help. And of course she can never go wrong if she draws the eye toward her eyes and hair, which tend to elevate any look when they’re spotlighted like this.
