You know we love Miss Gemma. And we think this is an interesting choice. But we don’t think we can make our usual argument that she instantly makes everything look fabulous by putting it on. Because this?
This requires some getting used to.
We think the idea of the outfit – a high-necked dress slit to the sternum with a pair of pants underneath – has some merit. Rendering such a sweeping and powerful look in a bold red is a perfect choice for a superhero premiere. But the proportions are off and the fabrics don’t appear to travel well, because this is the messiest she’s ever looked on a red carpet. The seams are all puckery and the pants are way too big. We think the dress could work if it was rendered in a more luxe fabric and if she paired it with a pair of black cigarette pants. As is, it’s just too awkward; even for her super powers.
