Dear Madam Close,
T & Lo cordially invited you to continue to SLAY ALL DAY, GIRL.
Yeah, we know it’s not the freshest design in the world. And we’re pretty sure Meryl’s worn some version of this a half-dozen times. But we’re less focused on the dress – which, to be fair, does look fantastic on her – and more focused on the face. This is not, we think, a coincidence. The hair, makeup and jewelry are all top notch. We suppose there’s an argument that the hair is helmety, matronly or that her roots needed touchups, but we actually really love the effect, which is somewhere between a crown and a halo. The fabulous earrings, neckline and shoulder treatment all work to draw the eye to her and not to the dress. One could quibble with a few of the choices, but the effect is not to be denied, we think.
