Gugu Mbatha-Raw in Jenny Packham at “Beyond the Lights” Opening

We have yet to see this lady get it wrong. Maybe it’s because she has a talent for wearing looks that many other ladies couldn’t pull off. Case in point:

We’re just gonna say it: we don’t like this dress. And the longer we look at it, the more we want to end that previous sentence with an all-caps (so you know we mean business) “AT ALL.” It looks like curtains you’d buy in a dollar store, stitched together to make a neckhole and then belted. In truth, it’s a big nothing.

And yet, she looks lovely, ethereal, and romantic. It’s exactly the right kind of dress for her. And she’s got enough poise to make it look like a fantasy ball gown on her. We have a new red carpet girl crush, you guys. Love the hair.

In other news, ladies, you know how we just hate to give un-asked for opinions, but after noting how good it looked on Jada the other day, we’re ready to declare that ladies of color should immediately start shopping for something mauve. It’s on trend and it clearly looks amazing against brown skin.

And while we’re SICK TO DEATH of the naked sandal, we have to admit, this is a really sharp pair.

Okay, we’re done gushing. You guys do it.
