Only half the cast of Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery came to the Los Angeles premiere, but to make up for their missing co-stars, they all apparently decided to coordinate their looks and show up looking impeccable.

We appreciate their efforts but we’re kind of mad at them because we have nothing to bitch about.
Cailee Spaeny in Miu Miu

Do we like peplums? No. Do we think all-black dresses are a good idea for the red carpet? Also no, but we’d look like fools trying to claim there was a problem here. To be fair, we think the peplum sits too high and we really dislike those widely placed straps that are all the rage at the moment, but we like the textural details and embellishments for keeping it interesting.
Mila Kunis in The New Arrivals

It’s very plain, but we’re not mad at it. We don’t actually know if the cast coordinated, but her dress tends to look much better when she’s standing with her co-stars:

They just look right together. As for Miss Kerry…
Kerry Washington in Zuhair Murad Couture

What a stunner for her. She tends to try to get cute and quirky with her style but let’s face it: she was born to work this sort of classic screen siren glamour. The unusual color really makes the look. As we wrote recently, we tend not to like overworked, twisty and pleated gowns, except for when they’re designed and executed by people who know what they’re doing. The drape is dramatically gorgeous and the bodice is impressively rendered.
Josh O’Connor

Y’know, we never thought we’d say this about him, but it may be time to freshen up the look a little. He’s defaulted to these roomy tuxes a bit too much lately.
Josh Brolin

Love this for him. We could do without the satin scarf and we think a lighter brown shoe might have been a good idea, but this is all very well put together and it really suits him. Everything’s of the highest quality and well-fitted to him. The grooming is flawless. This is how a man can remain stylish as sixty looms on the horizon.
ABOUT THE MOVIE:
Benoit Blanc (Daniel Craig) returns for his most dangerous case yet in the third and darkest chapter of Rian Johnson’s murder mystery opus. When young priest Jud Duplenticy (Josh O’Connor) is sent to assist charismatic firebrand Monsignor Jefferson Wicks (Josh Brolin), it’s clear that all is not well in the pews. Wicks’s modest-but-devoted flock includes devout church lady Martha Delacroix (Glenn Close), circumspect groundskeeper Samson Holt (Thomas Haden Church), tightly-wound lawyer Vera Draven, Esq. (Kerry Washington), aspiring politician Cy Draven (Daryl McCormack), town doctor Nat Sharp (Jeremy Renner), best-selling author Lee Ross (Andrew Scott), and concert cellist Simone Vivane (Cailee Spaeny). After a sudden and seemingly impossible murder rocks the town, the lack of an obvious suspect prompts local police chief Geraldine Scott (Mila Kunis) to join forces with renowned detective Benoit Blanc to unravel a mystery that defies all logic. Academy Award-nominated filmmaker Rian Johnson writes and directs Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery, and assembles another all-star, award-winning cast.
