We were going to put this one up to a vote, but given the collective hatred of the public bra ’round these parts (a hatred we have fueled on plenty of occasions ourselves), we wouldn’t want poor Olivia to face that many torches and pitchforks. Still, we’d like your opinion on this one, because we … don’t hate it?
Actually, that’s not entirely true. We think we hate the pants. We like the idea of a wide-legged, high-waisted pant with these items, but we think the both qualities go just a bit too far. The waist is a little too high and the pants are a little too full. Also: the clutch clashes with the other gold. But the jacket and bandeau are not among the things we’d change about this look, to our complete surprise. Like Lupita’s look today, there’s something a little ’40s Screen Goddess in the styling. Not as much as there could have been, but it’s a decent way to interpret these pieces. We’re not feeling the look book styling at all.
