We interrupt all this fabulous The Devil Wears Prada 2 red carpetry to take a moment to check in on a much less fabulous premiere with one nonetheless fabulous attendee. This concludes the use of the word “fabulous” in this post. We’ve reached the daily limit. Colman Domingo came to the premiere of the Michael Jackson biopic Michael and we wish he hadn’t.

That is, we wish he hadn’t agreed to do this Michael Jackson biopic. The reviews — at least among those critics willing to point out the elephant missing from this particular room — have been savage and we just don’t think anyone should be staking their careers on white-washing the actions of a pedophile, which is what Michael Jackson was, regardless of what his family wants you to think. This is a gorgeous look from Colman and he remains one of the few male stars who can work a goofy bow tie, but we really hope this movie goes away quickly.

ABOUT THE MOVIE:
MICHAEL is the cinematic portrayal of the life and legacy of one of the most influential artists the world has ever known. The film tells the story of Michael Jackson’s life beyond the music, tracing his journey from the discovery of his extraordinary talent as the lead of the Jackson Five, to the visionary artist whose creative ambition fueled a relentless pursuit to become the biggest entertainer in the world. Highlighting both his life off-stage and some of the most iconic performances from his early solo career, the film gives audiences a front-row seat to Michael Jackson as never before. This is where his story begins.
