LUXURY! We deserve it, no? Yes. It is WEDNESDAY and this is the roughest work week of the year, so let’s all ignore the nonsense and procrastinate the hell out of the day together, like a barely functional family.

How Katherine LaNasa Finally Broke Out in ‘The Pitt’
After decades of steady work, the unflappable actress has finally landed a steady job — or at least a second season — on HBO’s hottest show.

When Katherine LaNasa walked onto the set of The Pitt to begin filming the medical drama’s second season, she immediately noticed that something was different. There was, as she describes it, a veneer of success permeating across the cast and crew. “Everybody was a little more tanned, a little more buff, they’re all redoing their bathrooms,” she recalls with a laugh.
The show, created by ER writer-producer R. Scott Gemmill alongside star Noah Wyle and producer John Wells, debuted one year ago and became a smash hit — it’s now among HBO Max’s top three most watched series of all time. In September, it won five Emmys, including one for LaNasa’s performance as crowd-favorite charge nurse Dana Evans, and this season it will compete at the Golden Globe and Spirit awards (after winning big at the Critics Choice). But LaNasa, 59, is happiest about the fact that she still has a job.

Sylvie Grateau Is the True Star of Emily in Paris
Here’s hoping that the just-confirmed season 6 digs even deeper into Sylvie’s lore.

Our titular Emily Cooper (Lily Collins) has nothing on Sylvie this past season. The latter’s exceptionally epic run during season 5 displayed the kind of reckless flair and horniness not seen on television since Samantha Jones—another PR maven from the mind of Darren Star—sashayed out of our lives with the final Sex and the City film in 2010. Sylvie’s storylines are ridiculous, her wardrobe obscene, her audacity unparalleled. And Leroy-Beaulieu, the woman who brings Sylvie to life, gave 110% to her this season, committing to all the absurdity we could ever hope to see on a television show called Emily in Paris.

‘Steamy And Suspenseful’: Don’t Miss Netflix’s New Psychological Thriller That Drops This Week
Adapted from a novel by Alice Feeney, His & Hers sees an estranged married couple investigate a murder case where both believe that the other is the prime suspect.

Netflix’s latest psychological thriller, His & Hers, is set to drop on January 8, and for those looking to lose themselves in the tension and scandal of a new series, this is it.
Isolated and withdrawn, Anna Andrews (played by Tessa Thompson) is a reporter and news anchor who once had a thriving career and is struggling to find her way back to it. She attempts to breathe some life into her work by investigating and covering the sinister murder of a woman in her hometown of Dahlonega.
As Anna digs into the case, she realises that her estranged husband, Detective Jack Harper (Jon Bernthal) knows the victim and she begins to suspect that he is at fault for her murder. But as the truth emerges, Anna’s own involvement comes into question, and the two compete to solve the murder. Directed by filmmaker William Oldroyd (Lady Macbeth, Eileen), it’s a test of which protagonist you feel like you can truly trust.

Joel Edgerton on the Deeply Personal Ties of Train Dreams
The Australian actor revealed how the meditative drama is “wrapped up so much in my greatest fears around loss and my ambitions of being a good dad.”

Joel Edgerton’s journey to Train Dreams began with failure. After reading Denis Johnson’s eponymous novella years ago, he tried to buy its film rights himself. “This idea that we’re just following the life of an ordinary person and it spans 80 years of one person’s life—the celebration of an ordinary life, and showing us the majesty of that, was something I found very special,” Edgerton told Little Gold Men during a live taping at IHG’s Regent Santa Monica Beach in December. “It didn’t quite ever dare to try to answer the question of what is the meaning of life, but swelled around questions of the purpose of life and what does it all mean—and is it all worth it?”

How Hypnotherapy Helped Me Break Out of an Insomnia Cycle
After trying conventional methods, I went out of my comfort zone

A strange thing happened a few months ago: I started struggling with sleep. Despite never rearing its head before I turned 30, this bout of insomnia has brought me incredible stress and exhaustion, and it’s compounded by the fact that I’m a famously sleepy person; eagerly anticipating each evening’s tasty morsel of rest. But alas, recently I have found myself staring at the ceiling for hours on end, willing my brain to shut off, as my partner snores gently beside me—a patter of sounds that have quickly become affronting.

15 Puffer Jackets to Stay Warm and Stylish in the Snow
A saviour in the current Baltic weather

I used to hate puffer jackets. Misguidedly, I thought they were the sartorial way of saying, “I can’t be bothered”. But I have come to see the errors of my ways. In France, we have a proverb: “Il n’y a que les imbéciles qui ne changent pas d’avis”, which means (in a not-so-polite way) that only the narrow-minded never change their minds.
And so I’ve come to love puffer jackets so much that I now wear almost no other winter coats, especially when I’m out and about with my daughter and I want to be comfortable as well as stylish. Make no mistake, puffer styles are nothing if not chic. Thanks to designers such as Max Mara, Nanushka, Givenchy and Soft Goat, and high street stores like Arket, H&M and Uniqlo, padded jackets have been given a serious upgrade of late.

What Powerful Women Actually Wear to the Office
Insiders across industries share the pieces that work as hard as they do.

We’re told to dress for the job we want. But what happens once you actually get it—when you’re named CEO or your once-small business is suddenly bringing in millions a quarter or you step into a role that has only ever gone to a man? For many women, that question carries extra weight and scrutiny, especially when you’re the first woman in the room or the only person of color on the team.
To get some answers, we polled 11 women across business, politics, science, finance, and fashion—from state representatives and rocket scientists to entrepreneurs and CMOs—about what they wear on the job. What emerged wasn’t a single “right” look, but a shared approach. The women we spoke to don’t feel bound to neutral palettes, the expectation of always wearing heels, or other long-prescribed ideas about how working women should dress. Having made it over, around, and through corporate roadblocks—at a moment when women still hold just 30.6 percent of leadership roles globally—their wardrobes function as tools for agency, efficiency, and confidence on their own terms.

The Best Manifestation Manicure to Wear for Good Energy in 2026
New year, new nails. While it’s tempting to try trending nail designs, you might also be thinking about the year ahead—which is perfect for a manifestation manicure.
January is not just the first month of the year; it’s an energetic gateway, a time of intention and renewal where every detail counts. From the clothes we choose to the rituals we repeat almost unconsciously, everything becomes a symbolic act.
“Every color holds a vibrational energy that can enhance our intentions,” Sarah Potter, a tarot reader and psychic medium, previously told Glamour. “When we use color consciously, we can manifest our desires, shift how we feel, and change the energy. We all relate to color; we all know which colors we love and which ones we repel. This is reflective of the energy we are working with and what we need to feel balanced.”

British Museum Aims to Hire Treasure Hunter to Recover Lost Gold Artifacts
Three years ago, the museum revealed that more than 1,500 items were missing from its Greek and Roman collections. Less than half have been recovered.

The British Museum made headlines in 2023 when it announced items from their collection had been stolen. The majority of the stolen pieces were small gems and jewelry kept in a storeroom, and none were on public display. Now, the London Times reports the institution is “preparing to hire a treasure hunter to help recover hundreds of stolen artefacts before they disappear for ever.” As of January 2025, the British museum has recovered 654 of the estimated 1,500 items missing.

9 Subtle Skin Scents That Exude Quiet Luxury
From sheer woods to barely-there florals, these are the ultimate minimalist scents.

After a steady run of in-your-face gourmand perfumes and bold, opulent florals, it’s only natural for the tides to start shifting towards quieter, more minimalist scents. Think sheer musks, feather-light ambers, and powdery florals—these are what make up the newest crop of skin scents.
“A skin scent is an intimate, understated style of fragrance designed to sit close to the body rather than project outward,” says Frank Voelkl, master perfumer at DSM-Firmenich. “Often described as ‘introverted,’ these scents feel personal and whisper-soft, more like an enhanced version of your natural warmth than a traditional perfume.” Unlike other perfumes, Voelkl says, many skin scents have a steady aroma that stays consistent throughout the day, rather than morphing from top to middle to bottom notes. “I often think of skin scents as olfactory whispers,” adds Carlos Huber, fragrance developer and founder of Arquiste. “They’re less about projection and more about presence, the kind of scent someone notices when they lean in, or hours later on a scarf or collar.”

The Simpsons retires iconic character after 30 years
The fan-favorite character was first introduced in a classic 1997 episode of the animated sitcom.

The Simpsons is bidding farewell to yet another iconic character — this time, without killing anyone off.
The latest episode, entitled “Seperance,” parodies the workplace sci-fi drama Severance, as the Simpsons family discovers that Duffman — the mascot of Homer’s beloved Duff Beer — has been retired.
Barry Duffman shared the news with viewers at the start of the episode, when he showed up at the Simpsons’ home, trying to recruit Homer to work for a soulless corporation known as EOD (Enthusiasm on Demand). He then explained that his days of wearing an outrageous belt made of beer cans is over, as the Duffman mascot is no more.

Per the settlement, Kidman’s home will be the primary residence of the couple’s two daughters, Sunday Rose, 17, and Faith Margaret, 14. Urban was granted every other weekend with the children, 59 days out of the year to Kidman’s 306. Both parents have joint responsibility for major decisions regarding their daughters’ lives.

Emma Stone scoffs at suggestion she’s playing Miss Piggy: ‘Are you out of your mind?’
The Oscar-winning actress said that Miss Piggy “would be storming out right now at the mere suggestion” that anyone else play her onscreen.

Emma Stone knows that Miss Piggy is in a pig-agree all her own.
The Bugonia star, 37, immediately shut down the suggestion that she will be playing Miss Piggy in her and Jennifer Lawrence’s upcoming film.
“First of all, that is the biggest insult to Miss Piggy that I’ve ever heard and I will not have her name dragged through the mud like that,” Stone told W Magazine. “Why would I play a literal star?”

How to Fix Overhead Lighting in a Rental—Without Breaking the Bank
This easy solution is a breeze to install.

Living in a small rental apartment can limit what’s possible in terms of interior design. Throughout the many years that I’ve perused trade shows and furniture showrooms, I often find myself returning to a common refrain: It’s beautiful, but this sofa is the size of my entire apartment, or I love this light fixture, but I’d never be able to install it in my rental.
The latter is a particular sticking point. The illumination in most apartments isn’t ideal, especially when it comes to overhead lighting. Often, these light sources feel too harsh or too dim, casting an unappealing shadow across a living space.
Fortunately, I recently found a fix that’s affordable, rental-friendly, and easy to install. I’m only a bit sad that I didn’t think of it sooner.

How to Turn Trader Joe’s Flowers Into Show-Stopping Bouquets

Trader Joe’s is primarily known for its ready-made meals, delicious spreads, and addictive snacks, but it also has a robust selection of flowers. Devotees will regularly drop in to see what flowers are in stock, even swinging by early to get the best possible selection. Like everything at Trader Joe’s, these flowers are remarkably affordable, starting at around $4 for smaller bouquets and asking $20 for larger, seasonal arrangements.
