Die My Love star Jennifer Lawrence wore a gown that we’re supposed to hate to the Governors Awards. The problem is that, while we hate one part of it quite a bit, to the point that it may be blinding us to the rest of the dress’s qualities, we don’t think we actually hate the whole dress. Just the one part.

Can you guess which part? We think you can. The thing is, we tend to really dislike overworked designs that get all twisty on its wearer. There are ways to do such an element and have it come off elegant and flattering, but a designer has to be very good at their work in order to pull such a thing off. Putting aside that massive crotch pull for a moment (and yes, we realize it’s more crotch adjacent, but admit it: at first glance, you thought this thing was yanking on her ladyship, didn’t you?), we’re struck by how well-executed the rest of the design is. Despite that bulky and uncomfortable-looking skirt sling, the gown looks quite elegant on her. We guess the question put to you comes down to whether or not that thing bothers you enough to call the whole frock bad. Let’s hear it:
