An Exclusive First Look At Paul Tazewell’s Costumes In Wicked: For Good
For any costume designer, a project of Wicked’s scope and scale would pose a thrilling challenge. But in Paul Tazewell’s case, he was tasked with outfitting two such movies – Wicked and Wicked: For Good – simultaneously. “It was exciting to shoot this way, to really maximise the scenery and consistency of the characters,” he says. “But it also meant that we needed to have a clear sense of the overall arc of the story.”
His work has already paid off in spades; Tazewell won an Oscar this year for his costumes in the first film. Now he’s ready to share a first look at Wicked’s highly anticipated sequel, out on 21 November.
Tom Hollander’s ‘The Iris Affair’ Is The ‘High-Octane’ European Thriller Everyone Will Be Talking About
Created by Neil Cross, the scriptwriter behind ‘Luther’, this tech thriller is high on our watchlist this month.
If you loved Gangs Of London and The Day Of The Jackal, then Sky’s latest crime thriller offering, The Iris Affair, is surely next up on your watchlist for October thrillers to cosy up to.
Created by Neil Cross, the scriptwriter behind Luther, The Iris Affair is set to follow the much-loved British psychological crime thriller in becoming a ubiquitous hit.
Released on October 16, the eight-part series sees Niamh Algar (Playing Nice, The Virtues) star as Iris Nixon, an incredibly smart codebreaker who makes her way into an intimidatingly powerful supercomputer. This results in her becoming the target of a high-stakes cat-and-mouse chase across various locations in Italy including Rome, Florence and Sardinia.
After The Hunt‘s Julia Roberts and Ayo Edebiri on cancel culture, misogyny, and ‘women believing women’
“We shouldn’t as a society be told what to do, or shame people for doing something that is a different choice than we would have made for ourselves.”
Luca Guadagnino’s After The Hunt is a sublime study of a complicated post-#MeToo world for women.
The film centres around two women, played by Julia Roberts and The Bear’s Ayo Edebiri, who find themselves at opposing ends of the “believe women” narrative when student Maggie (Edebiri) is assaulted by her professor (Garfield). When she confides in Roberts’ Alma – also a professor pursuing her dream of tenure – her instinct to believe, support and empower a fellow woman is called into question, particularly if it affects her own social standing and career.
The grounding of a #MeToo story within a misogynistic institution – in this case, education – exposes the fragility behind the idea of ‘women believing women’; how do women and survivors navigate such male-dominated spaces? Especially when the system encourages playing a “man’s game” to get ahead and protect your reputation.

Don’t freak out, here’s why they’re there
When it comes to our skin, there’s a lot to consider. It’s a minefield, but here at Marie Claire, we hope to provide you with as much information as possible to help guide you through this ever-changing landscape. So, when we tell you that there are, in fact, little tiny mites living on skin, we don’t want you to panic.
Can Stella McCartney’s Clothes Really Reduce Air Pollution?
There was plenty of newness across the Spring/Summer 26 runways, but none as innovative as this
‘Sustainable fashion’ often gets an eye-roll. It’s overused, hard to define, and often leaves us with more questions than answers. While there are a number of sustainable brands genuinely paving the way for more planet-friendly practices—Stella McCartney being one of the most renowned—the British designer’s latest innovation has surprised even the most scrupulous of eco-warriors: denim that absorbs air pollution.
What Really Makes an Investment Piece? These Fashion Buys Will Last a Lifetime
Timeless designs and lifetime guarantees, included
We’ve all heard the phrase “buy less, buy better” by now, and it encourages us to do exactly as it says: invest in fewer, high-quality pieces that should last a lifetime. But what items actually fall into this category? And which ones will genuinely stand the test of time, ready to be passed down through generations? Not in an older-sister hand-me-down style (thanks, Mum), but as true investment pieces that deserve to be cherished.
Everyone’s Talking About Posture Walking – So I Tried It for a Week and Honestly? I’ve Never Felt Taller
One small step for posture, one giant leap for lower back pain.
I don’t know about you, but I never get tired of walking trends. Unlike some of the more flash-in-the-pan fitness ideas, walking is free, simple and universally known to benefit our physical and mental health. Brilliant for boosting our cardiovascular system, mental clarity and overall lifespan, it’s truly the unsung hero of the health world.
Which is why, when I saw that Google searches for “posture walking” had spiked by 40% last quarter, I went straight to TikTok (the oracle of all catchy fitness trends) to see what it was all about.
It’s no more groundbreaking than it sounds. Instead of focusing on distance, posture walking is all about how you walk, encouraging you to pay conscious attention to your body position as you take each step.
Could Sitting All Day Be as Harmful as Smoking? A Top Wellness Coach Shares Their Take
Stuck in the bed to desk to sofa cycle? We’ve all been there, and here’s how to change it.
I have one non-negotiable in my weekly routine: Monday morning movement. It could be as simple as a walk, a ten-minute Pilates flow, or a twenty-minute run – it doesn’t matter what it is, only that it happens. Every time I do, I feel sharper, more energised and oddly more optimistic about the week ahead. But the mornings I skip it? I notice immediately that I have stiffer hips, a sluggish focus, and a creeping sense that I’ve spent yet another day anchored to a chair.
Victoria Beckham Is Done Proving Herself: “I’ve Earned My Right to Show in Paris”
Hosted by Anna Wintour and Vanity Fair’s Mark Guiducci, the former Spice Girl spoke candidly about her struggles with food and establishing herself in the fashion industry.
Almost everyone in the chic crowd that gathered at the Crosby Street Hotel on Wednesday evening stuck to the brief that made Victoria Beckham famous: Wear black. Except, that is, Beckham herself. The artist formerly known as Posh Spice instead wore a crushed pink silk gown from her own label to the event, which celebrated the release of her three-part self-titled Netflix docuseries. Victoria Beckham launched on the streamer October 9.
Hosted by Condé Nast’s chief content officer Anna Wintour and Vanity Fair’s global editorial director Mark Guiducci, the intimate event gathered members of the fashion community to celebrate the pop star turned designer. During the cocktail hour before Guiducci’s conversation with Beckham, you could find the new head of editorial content for American Vogue, Chloe Malle, designer and actress Georgina Chapman, and model Jacquelyn Jablonski rubbing shoulders as Champagne and apps circulated the crowd.

Even the pickiest teen will love these.
Picking out the best gifts for teen girls—or the perfect teen gift, in general, TBH—can take some real sleuthing. That’s where we come in. We went straight to the source, talking to all the teen girls in our lives (and of course, endlessly scanning TikTok) to find out what’s on their birthday, Christmas, graduation, and just-because wish lists. Loungewear is also a big trend—they’re head over heels for leggings and sweatshirts from Lululemon and Alo. For something more personal, opt for a custom necklace engraved with her name. Without further ado, these are the trending gift ideas that beat out gift cards any day of the week.
Taylor Swift Fans Are Flocking to an Art Museum in Germany After Seeing Her New Music Video
This 19th century painting is suddenly the hottest ticket in Europe.
Is overtourism coming for this German museum next? That remains to be seen, but the Swifties are already on the way after a painting featured in Taylor Swift’s latest music video drew a surge of visitors to a lesser-known art museum over the weekend.
Hundreds of fans have reportedly traveled to the Hessische Landesmuseum in central Germany to see Friedrich Heyser’s “Ophelia,” painted at the turn of the 20th century. Per the Associated Press, one family made the trip from Hamburg—a five-hour drive—just to view the painting, museum spokesperson Susanne Hirschmann told German news outlets on Wednesday.
This Cookbook Resurrects Recipes From America’s Cemeteries
From cookies to meatloaf — gravestones are keeping family classics alive.
Have you ever thought about what you might want inscribed on your gravestone? Aside from the obvious text — name and dates of birth and death — the task of selecting a few unchanging words to sum up your existence or that of a loved one may feel like an insurmountable challenge.
Something that evokes sense memories and the emotions that come with them seems like it could come at least a little closer to summing up a precious person — or even yourself. If you’re searching for a piece of text that sparks the recollection of texture, taste, sight, and smell, a recipe might just do the trick.
This Idyllic Canadian Island Is the Pacific Northwest’s Best-Kept Secret
A smattering of more than 300 densely wooded islands off southeast British Columbia, the Southern Gulf Islands are home to flora found nowhere else in Canada: the flowering yellow Lindley’s False Silverpuffs; the rare Triquetrella californica moss; the coast-clinging Arbutus menziesii—Canada’s only evergreen deciduous tree, known for its flaky cinnamon-hued bark that peels away every summer to reveal a smooth olive-green skin.
“Many of these are disjunct species,” explains Canadian naturalist Andrew Simon, who first visited in 2007. “You find them in places like California and Oregon, then they vanish until you reach the Southern Gulf Islands.”
Thoughtful Hostess Gifts That Will Secure You a Second Invitation
It is true that every generation thinks it invented the dinner party. It is equally true, we presume, that every generation faces a bout of pre-dinner party apprehension, staring down a generic bottle of wine and trying to decide what kind of guest they want to be. Whether your calendar is filling up with holiday parties or you’ve befriended someone with a weekend home upstate, this time of year is rife with occasions that call for hostess gift ideas. And since there’s no such thing as a one-size-fits-all option (that aforementioned bottle of wine can be a thoughtful last resort), it’s worth taking a little time to pin point a present tailored to your recipient’s interests.
My Time With Angela Lansbury
It began simply enough. I was laid off from a syndicated television talk show, a blessing disguised as a reorganization. I’d started collecting unemployment and bartending under the table at a cocktail bar near my Hell’s Kitchen apartment when, one afternoon, my former manager called. His colleague represented an actress; would I be interested in assisting her a few days a week?
Days later, my Motorola flip phone rang, displaying an anonymous number. This was 2006, a time when no one questioned picking up the phone. I had been experimenting with mixing cosmos—the namesake of the aforementioned bar—and drinking my mistakes.
“Hello, Sarah?” came the voice on the line. “This is Angela Lansbury.” Then came an exuberant laugh. Angela Lansbury—a woman whose career I scarcely knew beyond my grandmother’s television set on Sunday nights—chatted with me as though this were all perfectly normal. I was an aimless, broke, 24-year-old kid standing in my tiny apartment, admittedly a bit buzzed, holding my ear to the voice of an enchanted teapot.
A Pixie Is the Short Haircut Anyone Can Pull Off
Here’s proof that this style looks good on anyone, whether you have fine, straight hair or 4C coils.
Getting a dramatic haircut is often viewed as a sign that you’re going through a major life event. That sentiment was certainly true for me. After having my first child, I felt like a different person. My perspective on so many things, including beauty, changed. So I chopped my coils into a cute little pixie cut. It was an outward transformation that reflected the internal shifts I was experiencing.
Kiss Guitarist Ace Frehley Dead at 74
The wild Spaceman of Kiss played with the group from their inception in 1973 until 1982, and then again during their reunion period in the Nineties
Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley were the primary songwriters in Kiss, but Frehley’s guitar chops and rock star attitude were key components of the band’s success. As a songwriter, Frehley wrote “Cold Gin,” “Parasite,” “Shock Me,” “Talk to Me,” and other fan favorites. Simmons, Stanley, Frehley and drummer Peter Criss were inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2014.
“We are devastated by the passing of Ace Frehley,” Simmons and Stanley said in a joint statement. “He was an essential and irreplaceable rock soldier during some of the most formative foundational chapters of the band and its history. He is and will always be a part of KISS’s legacy. Our thoughts are with [Frehley’s wife] Jeanette, [his daughter] Monique and all those who loved him, including our fans around the world.”

8 Ways to Make Outdated Wood Cabinets Look More Modern
Don’t let natural wood cabinets date your kitchen.
Natural wood cabinets were popular for decades before falling out of favor as all-white kitchens became desirable due to minimalist design trends. But replacing outdated wood cabinetry is an expensive and costly project that not everyone has the time or budget for. Luckily, there are many ways to refresh wood cabinets without ripping them out. Whether it’s a small change, like updating your hardware, or something bigger, like replacing your countertops, interior designers say these are their go-to ways to make wood cabinets look more modern.
How to Embrace ‘Scruffy Hospitality’—Even If You’re a Perfectionist
Focus on celebrating warmth over perfection.
For perfectionists, the idea of hosting a dinner party without spotless floors or a perfectly set table can feel daunting. But hospitality is about connection, not immaculately polished spaces or elaborate menus. When a house feels lived in, it often feels more inviting, too.
“Scruffy hospitality” is the art of embracing imperfection and welcoming friends into your home as it truly is. The term was coined by Jack King, a Tennessee priest who noticed that he and his wife had stopped entertaining once they had children. They realized that if they waited for the house to be completely tidy, they might never have a dinner party again. Their solution was simple: open the door to their home, regardless of whether corners needed to be dusted or how many toys were on the floor.
This Wild Corner of Canada Has Twice As Many Moose As People—Plus Remote Lodges and Some of the Best Northern Lights Views
Here’s how to plan a trip to the Yukon.
Let’s get it out of the way now. Yes, it is hard to talk about the Yukon without mentioning Jack London’s “White Fang.” In the 1906 novel, the author described the territory as “the savage, frozen-hearted Northland Wild,” but I think London was wrong about the Yukon. The Yukon of today is quite warm in all the ways that matter.
While the Yukon is the smallest territory by land in Canada, it’s still a bit larger than the state of California. However, whereas California is home to around 40 million people, the Yukon’s population hovers around 46,000, and two-thirds of those inhabitants live in the capital, Whitehorse. To put it another way, there are twice as many moose as there are people in the Yukon. It also has the highest percentage of protected and conserved areas in any Canadian province or territory—so if you’re looking for an adventure in what feels like the edges of civilization, this is the place for you.
