You can never predict what Tessa Thompson’s going to wear next. She’s one of those stars who has an expansive view of how to use fashion to promote her work and she doesn’t lock herself into any one particular style or aesthetic. Why, just yesterday, the star of Hedda was at the BFI London Film Festival wearing a paper towel dress with a really goofy skirt, and here she is today, at the BFI London Film Festival in a crisp little ’90s-style suit…

… with a really goofy jacket. She may not be narrow in her style, but evidently she’s in her “wear a cute outfit with one really weird detail” era. It’s a shame, because that suit is very cute, but long trains or coats with micro-minis always looks silly to us.

ABOUT THE MOVIE:
From writer/director Nia DaCosta comes a provocative, modern reimagining of Henrik Ibsen’s classic play. HEDDA (Tessa Thompson) finds herself torn between the lingering ache of a past love and the quiet suffocation of her present life. Over the course of one charged night, long-repressed desires and hidden tensions erupt—pulling her and everyone around her into a spiral of manipulation, passion, and betrayal.
