Pope Tilda I deigned to join her co-stars Fala Chen and Colin Farrell at the BFI London Film Festival premiere of Ballad of a Small Player.

We are pleased to report that everyone looked pretty great for the occasion. We’re also a little annoyed by it because it gives us so few openings to be bitches.

We’re not super-crazy about that center seam, which draws too much attention to itself, but that’s the only quibble we have. It’s an elegantly sophisticated design that calls for a light touch on the styling, which is exactly how her team played it. The jewelry is beautiful and well-chosen; little points of punctuation that don’t take away from the main piece.

Meh. It’s a nice enough suit, but the look doesn’t photograph well and comes off looking a little cheap. We are pleased to see that he took our advice and laid off the tanning. Now we need to work on the circa 1994 hair (and accompanying shoe polish), the soul patch and the double hoops. His entire head is stuck in the ’90s and someone needs to rescue it.

ABOUT THE MOVIE:
Lord Doyle (Colin Farrell) is laying low in Macau – spending his days and nights on the casino floors, drinking heavily and gambling what little money he has left. Struggling to keep up with his fast-rising debts, he is offered a lifeline by the mysterious Dao Ming (Fala Chen), a casino employee with secrets of her own.
However, in hot pursuit is Cynthia Blithe (Tilda Swinton) – a private investigator ready to confront Doyle with what he is running from. As Doyle tries to climb to salvation, the confines of reality start to close in.
