Before the stars got all gussied up for the Emmys ceremony on Sunday night, they spent the weekend attending a bunch of pre-show celebrations, where they got to show off their more casual awards season styles. Put your judging pants on. We’re gonna check in on the attendees of the BAFTA TV Tea Party.
Chris Perfetti

This is so cute and the silver boots are a fabulous touch. We just don’t love the matching shirt.
Christopher Chung

These proportions look great on him. Since a jacket wasn’t required, we’d have liked this look finished off with suspenders.
Genevieve O’Reilly

We’re all for minimalism, but she looks like she’s about to deliver some sort of treatment at a fancy and vaguely terrifying spa.
Jeff Hiller in Thom Browne

LOVE this for him.
Jessica Williams in Jane Wade

We generally hate twisted designs like this, but we almost talked ourselves into liking the top. The skirt, however, is awful.
Joanne Froggatt

Strange couple of pieces. We don’t mind strangeness, of course, but there doesn’t seem to be much of a payoff for it. The skirt looks like a table runner.
Julianne Nicholson

Mumsy top, awful pants, cute shoes. But we have to admit, it all suits her and has a quirky appeal to it.
Justin Hartley

It’s fine. We like the brown shoes. Too often, guys default to black dress shoes with summer suit colors and we don’t always think it works.
Kathryn Hahn in Max Mara

The style’s not bad for her, but we hate the shape of that top.
Lisa Ann Walter

We appreciate a lined lace dress, but this lining should’ve been black, the hem should come up, and she should sport a simple pair of slingbacks.
Malin Åkerman

The skirt’s great, but we hate the top. The idea of going monochromatic wasn’t a bad one, which is why we think the shoe and bag are oddly discordant choices. Should’ve taken it all the way.
Michael Urie

Low key cute, although we don’t love the jacket.
Nicholas Alexander Chavez in Dolce & Gabbana

That shirt is sad.
Patricia Arquette

If it had been a standard gown length, we wouldn’t have loved it exactly, but we’d have understood it better than whatever that skirt situation is trying to accomplish.
Quinta Brunson in Prada

We tend not to love embellished straps that continue under the bust like that, but she looks amazing in this.
Rashida Jones in Tory Burch

It’s weirdly cute, which is perfect for her. The Little Orphan Annie vibes are pretty strong, but we don’t mind it. Our only quibble is that the reds don’t match. The shoes are weird, but again, that’s where her style sweet spot lies.
Skye P. Marshall

Stunning.
Tayme Thapthimthong

Adorable, but too casual. At the very least, tuck in that drawstring, mister.
Tramell Tillman

A gorgeously chic update of the classic ’70s leisure suit, which is due for a revival. Love this color on him.
