The Penguin star Cristin Milioti came to The Late Show working the currently very hot Big Dress trend. All the ladystars are doing it; showing up to sit down in a dresses that were clearly designed for standing.
It might surprise you to learn that we don’t hate this as much as you might think. Yes, the fringe is awful and she looks like a fancy string mop from certain angles, but if we ignore that one admittedly difficult-to-ignore element, we like the starkly graphic quality and the playful silhouette. We just don’t think she should’ve worn it here. She’s so stiff – she admitted that she can’t raise her arms – and we feel like it comes across in the interview. It’s a dress for making an impression and it accomplished that, but we’d have advised her to wear something that allowed her to be a little more loose and confident.
