Maison du MEZZE Restaurant – Hong Kong, China
Darlings, it’s TUESDAY. We’re sorry to have been the people to impart that sad fact to you. Best if we all just settled into a fabulous LOunge and forget we ever mentioned it.
For Nicola and Brooklyn Peltz Beckham, Love Conquers All
The world’s most talked-about couple on what it means to feel safe with someone who sees you for who you are, why their happiest moments never make it online, and the origins of their euphoric, occasionally messy, very real love.
Nicola, of course, is an actress, an heiress, and a newly minted director. Beckham is a cook, a hot sauce entrepreneur, and a photographer. Married since 2022 and known for their high-gloss wedding, viral PDA moments, and a shared love of dogs, family, and FaceTiming each other when they’re apart for more than a few hours, they’re a couple made for the internet age—and are very much a product of its modernity in many ways. Take their choice to formally use both of their surnames, for example. “We really wanted to share the same name,” Nicola told me later of her husband adding Peltz after they got married. “For us, but also for our future babies.”

Is MobLand season 2 happening? We have good news and bad news
We need Harry updates ASAP.
MobLand season 2 is all we can think about following that intense finale episode of the first season, and we need answers now. The last episode of Paramount+’s runaway hit show left us on quite the cliffhanger, and beyond what comes next for Tom Hardy’s character Harry Da Souza, there’s a lot still to be unpacked.
Written by Top Boy creator Ronan Bennett, executive produced by Guy Ritchie and starring the likes of Helen Mirren (Maeve Harrigan) and Pierce Brosnan (Conrad Harrigan), it’s safe to say that MobLand had all the right ingredients to be incredibly addictive.

We’ve received some important news when it comes to Nobody Wants This season 2. And thank goodness, because it is an objective fact that we all need to see more Noah and Joanne!
The hit Netflix romcom series will be back with new episodes in October, officially.

The Odd Man Out Who’s Always In Michael Cera was made for the Wes Anderson cinematic universe.
Now Cera is 36, a father of two, and starring in Wes Anderson’s 13th film, The Phoenician Scheme. It’s the Canadian actor’s first time in an Anderson project, which feels like an oversight or a glitch in the system. As co-star Benedict Cumberbatch put it at Cannes, “Watching Wes discover and use Michael is like God discovering water.” The magic of Cera’s performances has always been his stealthy sense of humor — a wide-eyed deadpan, words that come out wrong, a sweet cluelessness that sometimes cloaks an unexpected edge. He’s a constant outsider, even in the most offbeat settings imaginable. Greta Gerwig used this to great effect, casting Cera as odd-doll-out Allan on her beach of Kens in 2023’s Barbie, and it works all too well in the stylized hyperartifice of Anderson’s nostalgic, imagined worlds, which would fall apart like paper dollhouses if not for the grounded core of his players.
‘Carrie’ Series at Prime Video Sets Main Cast
Summer Howell and Samantha Sloyan will lead the drama from Mike Flanagan; eight other actors have also signed on.
The Prime Video series based on Stephen King’s Carrie has filled out its core cast.
Summer Howell (Cult of Chucky, Hallmark’s Crashing Through the Snow) is playing the title role in the drama, a teenager with newly emerging telekinetic abilities. Samantha Sloyan (The Pitt) will star alongside Howell as Margaret White, Carrie’s domineering mother. Alison Thornton, Thalia Dudek, Siena Agudong, Amber Midthunder, Josie Totah, Arthur Conti, Joel Oulette and Matthew Lillard have also joined the cast.
Prime Video ordered the series in April, with Mike Flanagan (Doctor Sleep, The Haunting) set as writer and showrunner. Flanagan has adapted several of King’s works in the past; in addition to The Shining sequel Doctor Sleep, he wrote the screenplays for The Life of Chuck and Gerald’s Game (teaming with Jeff Howard on the latter) and directed all three films.
How Lilly Pulitzer Brought Palm Beach Style to the Masses
As evidenced by the costumes on Sirens, Pulitzer’s colorful shift dresses have stood the test of time, bringing a carefree, nostalgic style to the present day.
The plot is as mysterious as it is fascinating, and everything is extremely polished, starting with the wardrobe of the main characters. Who, unlike Devon, the black sheep of the group played by Fahy, wear colorful, patterned mini-dresses that look like something out of a dollhouse. “I spent a summer in Martha’s Vineyard and I’ve since spent some summers in Nantucket,” Metzler told Variety. “My best friend has a house there, and it’s for real. Lilly Pulitzer is for real. They all have it on in Nantucket. Then there’s the Nantucket reds, the salmon color pants. The first time you see it, you’re like, ‘Where am I?’ It’s so bright. It’s sort of like, if you’ve been there, you’re in on the joke, you know the pants to buy.”
Coats Are Rarely Up for Auction
“We learned through this how generous Diana was, always giving something away,” said Martin Nolan, co-founder and executive director of Julien’s Auctions, which will present Princess Diana’s Style & A Royal Collection on June 26.
According to Martin Nolan, co-founder and executive director of Julien’s Auctions, only a handful of the 200 or so pieces offered for sale will be coats. “We learned through this how generous Diana was, always giving something away. And you never see one of Diana’s coats put up for auction, because she used to ask her butler, her staff or her friends to go round London, in January and February, in the freezing cold,” he explained to People, before adding: “She would find homeless people and give them coats. That’s how she was. Without artifice.”
Mia Threapleton Says She Manifested Working With Wes Anderson Aged Just 13
Threapleton’s excitement in joining Anderson’s iconic legacy is effervescent. With total gratitude and a slight sense of disbelief, she recalls watching Anderson’s work as a teen and aspiring to be like the actors she has just worked with. Needless to say, she has done her homework, quoting lines from The Grand Budapest Hotel and confessing that aged thirteen, when watching Moonrise Kingdom, she wrote in her journal: ‘I really wish I can work with Wes Anderson one day.’ In Mia’s case, manifestation truly works.
Miley Cyrus Explains Why She Isn’t ‘Overly Passionate’ About Becoming a Mom
This week, Miley Cyrus discussed her development as an artist over the years on an episode of The Interview podcast by The New York Times with Lulu Garcia-Navarro, from her time as a child star to now. In one segment, Cyrus explained how she makes business decisions; specifically, she shared why she is one of few pop stars on her level who doesn’t have her own makeup line.
‘My stepdad asked me the other day, “Why are you the only one without a makeup line?”‘ Cyrus shared. ‘I was like, “Cause that’s not my passion.” He goes, “That’s the right answer.” And it made so much sense. It’s like, “I don’t have a makeup line because I’m not a makeup artist.”‘
Male beauty standards have gone haywire
What’s driving some young men to shave off their eyelashes?
A small but curious sign of the deepening gender divide in our politically fraught times: Male beauty standards are getting really weird.
In the latest salvo, young boys on TikTok are shaving off their eyelashes, ostensibly because long eyelashes are girly. This new phenomenon joins a number of other perplexing masculine trends from the last few years, including doing tongue exercises known as “mewing” in order to achieve the squarest jaw possible, and “going to Turkey” for hair transplants. Somewhat relatedly, a Republican congressman bragged recently that he refuses to drink out of straws because that’s “what women do” (not quite a beauty standard as much as a sort of inscrutable new gender norm).
The Cockney Accent Is Fading, but This Dish Is Here to Stay
Shop owners in the U.K. are fighting to win government protection for pie and mash, a working-class meal with deep roots.
One evening in February, Andy Green hosted a Zoom call that made history: It was the first meeting of pie-and-mash-shop owners from across Britain.
The goal was to secure a future for their humble signature dish — meat pies and mashed potatoes soaked in a parsley sauce. In recent years, the gentrification of working-class neighborhoods in London, along with broader shifts in tastes, has brought pie and mash to the brink of extinction.
Devotees like Mr. Green are concerned that an essential piece of Cockney culture, tradition and heritage will be forgotten. So he’s trying to get the dish designated as a protected British food product by acquiring “traditional speciality guaranteed” status for it.
Prince Harry and King Charles’ Royal Rift That Won’t Heal: ‘The Underlying Issue Is Trust’
Father and son face a pivotal moment as the King’s cancer diagnosis adds urgency to hopes for reconciliation before it’s too late
As King Charles sat on a throne carved from Windsor trees at Canada’s Parliament on May 27, delivering a message of unity amid rising U.S.-Canada tensions, his estranged son Prince Harry was thousands of miles away in Shanghai.
Though briefly on the same continent, father and son remain emotionally worlds apart. “The True North is indeed strong and free,” Charles, 76, declared — earning praise for his statesmanship, even as he continues weekly cancer treatments.
“He could give a master class in diplomatic relations,” Ailsa Anderson, former press secretary to Queen Elizabeth, tells PEOPLE in this week’s cover story.
Mia Farrow and Cole Escola Are Looking For a Room in Fire Island
From sailing the Nile River with Bette Davis to being baptized (sort of) by her godfather George Cukor, Mia Farrow has had a unique life in show business. And that’s to say nothing of her own distinguished career as an actor, the highlights of which include starring roles in some of the 20th century’s most beloved films, including Rosemary’s Baby and Hannah and Her Sisters. Now, at the age of 80, Farrow is experiencing something of a personal renaissance, having just returned to Broadway for the first time since 1979 opposite Patti Lupone in The Roomate, a zany and heartwarming two-hander about an unlikely pair of friends. The role earned Farrow a Tony nomination, her first, and led her to Cole Escola, a two-time Tony nominee this season for the uproarious Oh, Mary! When the two got on Zoom last month, just before Lupone’s explosive profile in The New Yorker, Escola, a self-professed student of Old Hollywood, couldn’t wait to show Farrow what they’d just bought at auction: a pink satin pillow that once belonged to Greta Garbo herself. In conversation, the fast friends got to talking about grief, grandmas, and being frightened of Joan Crawford.

The Right Way to Clean Makeup Brushes, According to a Professional Makeup Artist
Your skin deserves better.
While you likely have a household cleaning schedule down pat, you may be forgetting about this important to-do: When they’re not washed regularly, makeup brushes can trap product, oil, dead skin, and environmental bacteria. And yes, those contaminants can be transferred to your skin during makeup application.
“Clean brushes are more than a beauty hack, they’re a non-negotiable for anyone who wants to protect their skin, extend the life of their tools, and elevate their makeup results,” explains professional makeup artist Lauren D’Amelio Ventre, whose set to release her own line of luxury makeup brushes later this year. “Whether you’re a beauty beginner or a working artist, clean tools are the foundation of flawless, healthy makeup.”

This Country Will Now Fine Airline Passengers for Standing Up Too Early After Landing
The next time you fly into Turkey for vacation, you may want to take a beat before standing up to get your luggage.
The next time you fly into Turkey, you might want to take a beat before standing up to get your luggage, because if you try to snag that bag too quickly, you could have to pay a hefty fine.
In May, the Turkish Directorate General of Civil Aviation announced new rules that will fine any passengers who unbuckle their seat belts, stand up, enter the aisle, or open the overhead bin before the plane has come to a complete stop after taxiing to the jet bridge or parking space for deplaning, the Associated Press reported.
