Barbra Streisand on Her New Album, Not Being Paid Enough for ‘Meet the Fockers’ and if She’ll Ever Direct or Perform Live Again
Barbra Streisand hasn’t stopped working since launching her professional singing career 65 years ago in New York City.
The first performer to earn EGOT status, Streisand’s legacy spans music, theater, film and television.
Now 83, Streisand is releasing “The Secret Of Life: Partners, Volume Two,” a collection of duets with Bob Dylan, Paul McCartney, Laufey, Hozier, Sam Smith, James Taylor, Sting, Tim McGraw and Josh Groban. Both Ariana Grande and Mariah Carey join her on “One Heart, One Voice.”
Christine Baranski Has the Range: On Psychedelics, Trump Resistance, and, Yes, Mamma Mia! 3
She plays elitist matriarchs on HBO’s The Gilded Age and Hulu’s Nine Perfect Strangers, but real-life Baranski is a football-loving grandmother who hits the town with King Princess: “I’ve lived thinking wonderful things were going to happen to me. And they did.”
Few actors can deliver a withering one-liner like Christine Baranski. Her crisp diction and icy stare are used to great effect in the third season of The Gilded Age as she looses zingers like “Let the sober circus begin,” about her sister’s efforts to curb community alcohol use, and “It’d be easier if he were dead,” in regard to a friend’s divorce. Baranski’s Agnes van Rhijn has relinquished her status as head of household to her newly endowed sister, Ada (Cynthia Nixon)—but she isn’t fading into the background.
Neither is Victoria, the other wounded rich lady Baranski plays this summer. The stylish, secretive guest can be found on season two of Nine Perfect Strangers, engaging in some unorthodox wellness therapy in the Alps alongside her estranged daughter, Imogen (Annie Murphy). Like Agnes, Victoria’s got a way with words: “Everything is optional, darling. Life is optional,” she tells Imogen. Later, she compares the Vatican to the Golden Globes: “Darling, they’re both just money-laundering schemes with fabulous wardrobes.”
The harrowing true story of Amanda Knox is coming to our TV screens this summer
Nine Perfect Strangers star Grace Van Patten will play Knox, who was wrongfully imprisoned for murder.
A TV dramatisation of Amanda Knox’s incredible true story is coming to Disney+ this summer.
The series will portray her journey to prove her innocence after being wrongfully imprisoned for her roommate’s murder while studying abroad in Italy. She was convicted in 2007 and was finally acquitted by Italy’s highest court eight years later in 2015.
11 best postpartum swimwear styles to wear on that well-deserved holiday
New mums vouch for these styles.
Swimsuit shopping isn’t exactly a beloved activity – no matter how body positive you are. Add pregnancy and giving birth to the mix, and even the best postpartum swimsuits will likely have you frustratedly closing tabs or dashing out of the dressing room in a fluster.
After creating life and carrying it around for 9 months, though, if anyone’s deserving of a holiday it’s you. So the show (browsing the best swimwear brands) must go on.
The boxer shorts trend is your answer to heatwave dressing
Take it from the It girls.
Yes, you can wear your boxer shorts out-out.
Heat wave dressing is no mean feat. What does one wear when the temperatures soar above 30 and the thought of trousers makes you sweat? Enter: boxer shorts.
Wearing your undies out is not necessarily a new trend—Miu Miu’s micro shorts have been making the rounds the last few seasons with leggy fashion girlies flaunting their limbs in shorts so tiny the under-pockets stick out. Then the bubble skirt gave way to bubble shorts that look more like bloomers, favoured by those Euro summer-bound vintage fans. Now, all the coolest girls are borrowing another piece from the bedroom and this time, they’re a little more universally flattering.
Amber Heard deserves her peace – just like all survivors
It’s time Johnny Depp finally left her alone.
Johnny Depp has described himself as a “crash-test dummy” for the #MeToo movement. In a sprawling, self-indulgent interview with The Sunday Times, the actor laments an industry that has, supposedly, cast him out. In doing so, he revives Depp v. Heard, the infamous 2022 trial in which he successfully sued ex-wife Amber Heard for defamation in the US, after she wrote an op-ed about experiencing domestic abuse.

Missing ‘Rivals’? Let 6-Part Period Drama ‘Outrageous’ Hailed As ‘Perfection’ By Viewers Fill The Void
‘Outrageous’, the six-part BritBox series serialises the lives of the sextet of Mitford sisters — and it makes for a seriously fun ‘Rivals’-esque romp of a show.
Rivals may have recently started filming on its second season, but for those counting the days, hours and minutes before its small screen return, may we present to you a new mini series. that may well pique your interest: Outrageous, a six-part series depicting the lives of the infamous Mitford sisters.
The series is based on the 1930s chapters of Mary S. Lovell’s biography of all six sisters, The Mitford Girls: The Biography of an Extraordinary Family. It tells the story of the aristocratic Mitford family, who became notorious during the 1930s due to the six Mitford sisters — daughters of David Freeman-Mitford, 2nd Baron Redesdale, and his wife, Sydney Bowles, whom he married in 1904. Sydney was the daughter of publisher and politician Thomas Gibson Bowles, and David was the second son of Bertram, Lord Redesdale.
Carrie Coon Is in Her Gilded Age
Hot off the buzzy third season of The White Lotus, Coon returns to the screen as Bertha Russell in The Gilded Age.
The first line of Carrie Coon’s Wikipedia entry references the “complex” women she’s known for playing, a characterization that makes the actor smile when I relay it to her. Is she drawn to these “complex” characters, I ask, or has she been typecast?
“The latter,” she says. “We all have a way we present in the world. The perception of me is that I am verbal, intellectual. My voice is lower and I don’t have Botox, so I tend to play older than I am. And so I’ve always had a gravitas or some authority.”

The prequel got an early renewal ahead of the season 1 premiere.

What We Lost With Barbara Walters
Walters’s achievements and shortcomings are given equal airtime in the new documentary Barbara Walters: Tell Me Everything, which premiered at this year’s Tribeca Film Festival and lands on Hulu today. Made in partnership with ABC News Studios, the film incorporates archival interview tape, so that much of Walters’s posthumously produced story is told in her own words. And then there are the former subjects of her interviews, including Oprah Winfrey, Monica Lewinsky, and Bette Midler, who reflect decades later on what it was like to be in Walters’s hot seat. She had an exceptional knack for getting her interviewees to open up emotionally; it was with Walters that Winfrey first spoke publicly about being sexually abused as a child, and Walters’s exclusive with Lewinsky drew in an estimated 70 million viewers.
The Gilded Age’s Cynthia Nixon Thinks Ada’s Temperance Crusade Is ‘Perhaps Misguided’
This summer, Cynthia Nixon is the queen of HBO Max. The NYC-based actress is starring in two of the network-slash-streamer’s biggest series of the summer, And Just Like That… and The Gilded Age. Despite the approximately 150 years between them, the series have much in common as frothy looks at the lives of New York City’s well-dressed elite. But Nixon’s characters in particular could not be more different. A far cry from relatably messy but sharp and adventurous Miranda Hobbes, Ada Forte (née Brook) is often quiet as a church mouse, sweet and naive, and spends most of her life sequestered in her well-appointed drawing room. In season two, Ada finally found a soulmate to get her out from under the thumb of her sister Agnes (Christine Baranski), only for him to die of cancer. In the season three premiere, Ada’s back by Agnes’s side, this time as a wealthy widow at the helm of their household after her nephew Oscar squandered the van Rhijn fortune. And what is she doing with this newfound power and position? Getting really into the Temperance movement, of course.
And the Emmy Nominations Should Go to…
THR’s TV critics pick through a crowded field to determine the most deserving contenders ahead of voting closing on June 23.
The key races for the 77th Primetime Emmy Awards couldn’t be more different.
The comedy categories appear to be heading for another showdown between The Bear — once again prompting an obligatory “Is it a drama or a comedy?” debate — and Hacks, with several returning shows still in the mix while the drama fields, which Shōgun dominated last year, are wide open.
While voters can, and in many cases should, absolutely go back to prior favorites like The White Lotus, Severance and The Last of Us, the THR television critics have recommendations on some familiar and some quirky and offbeat ways to fill out ballots.
Dolly Parton, Who Left Touring Behind Years Ago, Announces a Six-Show Run at Caesars in Las Vegas
Dolly Parton has not been out on the road since her “Pure & Simple” tour wrapped up in 2016, with only scattered one-off full concerts in the years since. So fans have an understanding of just how rare shows by the country-pop superstar are as background to the announcement she made Monday morning: Parton will be doing a six-concert run at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace in December.
Officially named “Dolly: Live in Las Vegas,” the mini-residency will run at the resort from Dec. 4 through Dec. 13. Fans will of course be hoping for an extension on that, given the likely demand, but for now, at least, it’s just a half-dozen shows… all happening during National Finals Rodeo, when country stars have been known to take a special liking to Vegas bookings.

Some things you can count on with a new Haim album: viral dance moves, a barrage of TikToks, Paul Thomas Anderson visuals, and songs that hit—all set to an unmistakably L.A. backdrop. A few days after announcing a major tour, the Haim sisters got on a call with Hacks star Hannah Einbinder to talk about dating in L.A., quitting day jobs, and creative breakthroughs.

These sweet, snackable cousins have a lot in common, but they’re not one and the same.

Still, they do bear a resemblance—especially when you remove their shells. We spoke to exotic fruit experts to learn more about their differences and similarities.

This Italian City Was Named the Most Underrated Luxury Destination in Europe—and It’s Known as the ‘New Tuscany’
Often overshadowed by its glamorous neighbors, Umbria is coming into its own.
Tucked between Tuscany and Lazio in central Italy is Umbria, a region that remains, somehow, just out of the spotlight. Often called Italy’s “green heart,” it may feel less polished and be less photographed than its more well-known neighbors, but it’s no less enchanting.
