Sly Stone, Family Stone Architect Who Fused Funk, Rock, and Soul, Dead at 82
Wildly inventive musician and singer uplifted crowds but faced personal demons later on

Sly Stone, one of the most influential and groundbreaking musicians of the late Sixties and early Seventies who smashed the boundaries of rock, pop, funk, and soul, died on Monday. He was 82. The cause of death was a “prolonged battle with COPD and other underlying health issues,” according to a statement by his family.
“It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved dad, Sly Stone of Sly and the Family Stone,” Stone’s family said. “Sly passed away peacefully, surrounded by his three children, his closest friend, and his extended family. While we mourn his absence, we take solace in knowing that his extraordinary musical legacy will continue to resonate and inspire for generations to come.”

After making her TV breakout in 2008 on the reality show, the series ran for five seasons and chronicled the former celebrity stylist’s professional and personal life until 2013. Her addition to RHOBH will mark her return to Bravo for the first time in roughly 12 years.

35 family movies that are guaranteed to be a hit with everyone
No family squabbles here…

Family movies are just what we need after a long day. Sure, sometimes you just want some me time, but other times, it’s nice to round up the family members for a night of bonding in front of the telly with some good food and drinks.
Of course, there are certain films we would probably steer clear of while getting comfy on the couch with our mum, dad, and siblings (ahem, we’re thinking of you, Fifty Shades of Grey franchise) – but there are plenty of movies that are geared to entertaining all, no matter what your age.

Blake Lively issued a powerful statement after a judge dismissed Justin Baldoni’s lawsuit against her
“I will never stop appreciating or advocating for you,” Lively wrote on Instagram.

On Monday, June 9, Judge Lewis J. Liman dismissed Justin Baldoni and Wayfarer Studios’ countersuit against Blake Lively and her husband, Ryan Reynolds, in which he accused them of defamation and extortion. He also dismissed the defamation suit against The New York Times, which reported on Lively’s original complaint against Baldoni (here’s a longer recap of the various allegations between the It Ends With Us costars).
It doesn’t mean that she will necessarily win her suit against Baldoni — he denies all the claims against him and the trial is still set for March 2026 — but it’s gotta feel good to no longer have the spectre of a $400 million lawsuit hanging over your head. On Instagram, Lively released a statement thanking the many organisations that voiced their support for her motion to dismiss his case against her.

Meet The Riviera Bob: 2025’s Chic Upgrade Of the Italian Bob—Set To Take Over This Summer
Undone, effortless and ultimately chic, chic, chic

Summer is one of my favourite seasons when it comes to hair trends. As an almost immediate response to the warm weather, everyone suddenly starts gravitating towards beachy waves, effortless undone up-dos and the bob girls? They’re all opting for the bob trend I’m about to introduce you to—the Riviera bob.
A rebellion against the ultra-glam, glossy bobs we’ve been seeing in recent months (like the Italian bob and the red carpet-approved Hollywood bob), the Riviera bob still offers all the luxury with none of the fuss. A look made popular by celebrities like Hailee Steinfield and Kendall Jenner, the short style features soft layers and movement that work in harmony with the hair’s natural texture, meaning minimal styling and upkeep—perfect for hot, sunny days when you want to keep blow-drying and heat styling to a minimum. And, the Riviera bob’s appeal doesn’t stop there. To find out more, I spoke to hairstylist Tom Smith to get all the details. Here’s what he had to say…

This luxury hotel is the perfect oasis of calm just 30 minutes outside the madness of Marrakech
The Oberoi is world famous for 5 star hotels – and its Morocco outpost does not disappoint.

I’ve been to Marrakech four times now and each time I discover more about this incredible place – and leave with a suitcase heaving with shopping. Marrakech really is the perfect destination for a weekend getaway, being only a four hour flight from the UK, especially in the cooler months such as spring and autumn, when temperatures tend to stick in the mid-twenties. I’ve even been for Christmas and the weather during the day was perfect for lounging by the pool. In the past, I’ve always stayed in the beating heart of the city, but to get out into the countryside underneath the majestic Atlas mountains for a 3 day stay at The Oberoi proved to be the perfect foil to the hectic pace of the Medina.

Cole Escola on Tonys Drama and Their Cinderella-Meets-Bernadette Peters Look at the Tony Awards 2025
At the final fitting for their custom Wiederhoeft gown ahead of the show, Escola shared their thoughts on Patti LuPone and proposed how to fix gendered categories at the Tonys: “They should do it based on where you piss, and that’s what they should call it.”

No matter the outcome of the Tony Awards 2025 on Sunday, Cole Escola was destined for a Cinderella moment. It wasn’t enough that the playwright and star of Oh, Mary! had a sweeping powder-blue Wiederhoeft gown waiting for them Friday at their final fitting, when they burst into the designer’s atelier in New York’s Garment District about 10 minutes behind schedule, they were missing part of their shoe. Damsel, meet distress.
“Sorry, my shoes, they just—fell apart,” Escola explained breathlessly, whipping off a pair of dark sunglasses. On the walk over, the outsole had peeled off one beige leather ballet-like flat, then the other. They were still wearing the shoes and seemed reluctant to toss them, even though they were holding the detached black rubber soles in one hand. “Of course, everything disintegrates.”

‘Dept. Q’s Chloe Pirrie Reveals The Surprising Change Netflix Made From The Book
Chloe Pirrie, who plays Merritt Lingard in Netflix’s latest whodunnit, also reveals how she got into character.

It’s the show on the tip of the world’s tongue, but there are notable differences between Netflix’s adaptation of Dept. Q and the novel series by Jussi Adler-Olsen that the nine-episode show is based upon.
For the uninitiated, Dept. Q, which is inspired by the first in Adler-Olsen’s novel series, The Keeper of Lost Causes, tells the story of Detective Morck in the wake of his attack being assigned to lead a newly-assembled cold case unit. With a Mötley Crüe of unlikely peers, Detective Morck is tasked with his unit’s first investigation: the mysterious disappearance of prosecutor Merritt Lingard (Chloe Pirrie) several years earlier.
Indeed, in a new interview, Pirrie has elucidated a little further about the origins of her character, who, she reveals, is actually a politician in the novel Mercy. While the Merritt Lingard’s job in the novels differs from that in the Netflix series, the essence of the character’s journey remains the same.

A Beginner’s Guide To Really Understanding Astrology
Learning about astrology can feel like discovering an iceberg. What you thought was just sun signs and casually checking Co-Star is actually an entire system involving houses, planets, modalities, birth charts, and more. That being said, it’s a good idea to get a grasp of the basics before you start to descend into the deep. For example, what exactly is astrology anyway? And how has it changed over the years? Below, Tali Edut, one half of The AstroTwins, answers all those introductory questions. If after reading, you’re looking to learn even more, Edut recommends analyzing your own birth chart and in turn, learning about how planets, signs, and houses can all be pieced together.

Here’s How to Dine Out in France — Free of Faux Pas
From breakfast to the post-dinner digestif, here are the etiquette and customs to know when dining out in France.

In France, food isn’t just fuel — it’s a pleasure and pastime, linked to deep cultural traditions. The importance of la table is only matched by the love of shopping for ingredients and preparing them. Sunday lunch with my extended French family is a multi-course affair stretching for hours, with merry-making gourmands breaking into song sometime between the main course and the cheese platter. Meal times are sacred, and dining out at restaurants is taken as seriously as a football final starring les bleus. Whether you’re feasting on bouillabaisse in Marseille or boeuf Bourguignon in vineyard-cloaked Burgundy, there’s a common code of culinary customs and etiquette across the country. Here’s a primer on what you need to know.

Fans Swear by the Deli-Style Sandwiches at These Grocery Stores
You might want to go grocery shopping just for the sandwich counter.

Most grocery stores attract customers with their stellar selections of fresh produce, meats, baked goods, or perhaps the perfect rotisserie chicken. But some chains take additional steps to impress by offering made-to-order sandwiches at reasonable prices.
Whether it’s the cult-favorite Pub Subs from Publix or Whole Foods’ sandwich counter with an assembly of fresh ingredients, some grocery chains have perfected the art of deli-style sandwiches. Many grocery store sandwiches are so beloved that people will line up just to grab one or share their enthusiasm for a specific order on social media.
If you’re looking for a new place to get quality sandwiches or want to skip grocery shopping while hungry, here are five major chains to check out across the country.

‘Cloud Coffee’ Is the Frothy Drink Trend You Need to Try
It’s light, tropical, and we’ll be sipping it all summer long.

If you’re tired of ordering the same iced coffee every day or enjoy diversifying your caffeinated beverage options, then it’s time to open TikTok.
Among the many recipes and riffs on dishes shared on social media platforms, I’d hazard a guess that one of the most innovated-on items is coffee. (If you need proof, the hashtag #coffee has been used in 179 million Instagram posts, whereas #chicken is linked to 36.6 million posts.) The result is an online landscape brimming with endless ideas for how to prepare your daily cup of joe.
Among these many contenders, some rise above the rest, becoming coffee trends that everyone loves so much they recreate drinks at home or order them from coffee shops. The latest delicious addition to the lineup of online coffee fads combines elements from two previously trending drinks to create a creamy, tropical treat that’s perfect for warm weather.

Ricotta Is The Most Underrated High-Protein Cheese
There are so many varieties of ricotta cheese: it can be made from cow, sheep, goat, or buffalo milk, and is available in salted, baked, and smoked versions. Delicious and versatile, it’s also an incredibly underrated health food. When you consider the nutritional properties of ricotta, you’ll find that it’s one of the healthiest cheeses you can eat, right up there with the ever-popular and high-protein cottage cheese.

Why a Wedding Dress Rental Might Be the Perfect Addition to Your Bridal Wardrobe
Did you know that having a wedding dress rental is actually a common practice in countries like Japan, South Korea, and China? While in the United States, brides spend an average of over $1,000 on a dress they’ll wear only once, it’s possible to find an alternative that costs much less and has a minimal carbon footprint. While the options are somewhat limited if you’re looking to rent a dramatic ball gown in the United States, there are a growing number of rental options if you’re looking for a white cocktail look or a sleek slip. “In my experience, brides are more inclined to rent dresses for pre-wedding events and the reception or after party rather than their main ceremony gown,” shares Kate Loscalzo, founder of Something White Styling, which offers curated rentals along with bridal styling services. “The actual wedding dress often involves more personalized alterations and reflects a very specific, individual style preference.”

Frankie Grande Tells His Sister Ariana How He Found His Shine Again
Frankie Grande has been through a lot: online rumor mills, a stint in the Big Brother house, and struggles with addiction. Now, at 42 years old, the former theater kid is taking those experiences and pouring them into Hotel Rock Bottom, a pop debut that provides a painful-yet-playful look at his past and has his sister Ariana bursting into tears–and song.

Parker Posey ‘didn’t get’ her jokes on Will & Grace: ‘I didn’t think it was funny’
Posey’s two-episode arc as Dorleen, the manager of Sean Hayes’ Jack McFarland, had audiences rolling – which left Posey confused.
Parker Posey can make anyone laugh, but she can’t always explain why.
Recalling her two-episode arc on Will & Grace as Dorleen, Jack McFarland’s (Sean Hayes) love-hungry floor manager at Barney’s, the indie queen said figuring out how to fit into the manic pace of sitcom shooting was “like tap dancing.”
Posey told Lisa Kudrow in a recent episode of Variety’s Actors on Actors series that “really having to make that step” into the regimented sitcom mold wasn’t only challenging, but confusing.
“I would say stuff like on Will & Grace and people would laugh, and I’d be like, ‘I don’t get it,'” the Party Girl star admitted.

Sex and the City star Kristin Davis says criticism of the show was incorporated into the series: ‘We’re just going to use it’
If the dialogue is already written for you in a bad review, might as well take it.

Does taking constructive criticism well make you a Carrie, a Samantha, a Miranda, or a Charlotte? Well, to hear Kristin Davis tell it, it makes you a Darren Star and Michael Patrick King, the creator-producer and primary writer-director of Sex and the City.
In the newest episode of Davis’ must-listen podcast, Are You a Charlotte?, she was joined by Molly Price, the actress who had two SATC guest appearances as Susan Sharon, and has popped up on the more recent series And Just Like That.
The pair talked about Price’s first appearance, on the episode “The Awful Truth,” which was the second episode of season 2. Davis repeated a quote that Carrie Bradshaw (Sarah Jessica Parker) wrote, which Davis said was actually a window into how the show’s creators were reacting to their critics.

Why Tupelo Honey Is the Most Coveted—and Expensive—Honey in America
Connoisseurs swoon over this special sweet treat.

Tupelo honey may be the only variety of honey to have an album and a romantic song named after it, not to mention a city in Mississippi. That album, by Van Morrison, released in 1971, put the relatively obscure honey on the map, and like the song, it became a big hit. But separated from the music and the award-winning 1997 film Ulee’s Gold, which further added to its mystique, what is tupelo honey, and why is it so sought after? We spoke to honey experts to find out why this honey from the swamps has so much buzz and if it’s worth the hefty price tag.

5 Outdated Kitchen Paint Colors That Interior Designers Are Tired of Seeing
It may be time to retire these once beloved shades.

Paint trends come and go, but in the kitchen, the colors we choose tend to stick around. However, over the years, some shades have fallen out of favor—but calling them outdated isn’t always fair. Even overused colors can still look beautiful, depending on the space.
When it comes to color, it all comes down to context—like lighting, cabinetry, and how the hue plays against other materials. But if your goal is to freshen up your kitchen and make it feel more current, then color is a great place to start. Here are a few hues designers say are worth rethinking—and some expert advice for how to make them work.
